As my title states, I'm curious as to how many of you do 3 12's a week. At my facility, most of the OR nurses work dayshift Monday-Friday. I know every facility is different, just wondering what else people are doing. I currently work on an orthopedic unit, and have for a year. I'm considering making the switch to the OR in another year. I have always been interested in the OR so I'm excited about this possibility! I do love my 3 12's though and would be a little sad to give them up. Any insight appreciated :) Thanks!
I don't personally, but we have a couple nurses who do at our other facility. Our nurses are 5 8's, 4 10's (my favorite), or 2 8's and 2 12's. That way you get your full 40.
We have mix; on day shift some do 5 8's, several do 3 12's, but a lot of staff do 4 10's. Our afternoon shift is about half 5 8's and half 3 12's, and night shift will very soon be 3 12's for all the RNs.
