West Chester advance 2 BSN

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Hi all. Currently attending West Chester University as a public health major now but want to go into nursing. I was wondering if anyone could tell me about West Chesters Advance 2 BSN program? They say you only need a 2.75 gpa which I have well above! But how competitive is it really if I'll graduate my undergrad degree in 2019? Thanks! :)

Hey I went to West Chester! I was lucky enough to get into the BSN program right away. I don't know much about the A2B aspect of it, but please let me know if you have any questions about professors and classes. I'd love to help.

I am currently in this program! The A2B program is primarily for individuals whom already have a second degree - it is for individuals who are interested in making a career change, not necessarily because they could not gain access to the "traditional" program. For example, I got my masters in clinical psych from WCU, worked in the field for several years, and decided I wanted a change. We have people as young as 22 in the program and as old as late 40s.

The program is actually quite competitive, despite only needing a 2.75 GPA. You will likely get in, but must pass the TEAS with good results as well. There is an interview process for the program that goes through Brent Thompson, whom is the director. They typically receive over 200 applications and each cohort is 32 students.

Feel free to message me or email me at [email protected] if you want more information on the program! I am going to graduate in December 2017 with my BSN.
