Umass Boston, MCPHS, Salem State and VCU BSN Fall 2016

Hello everyone!

I am applying to Umass Boston, MCPHS, Salem State University and VCU for their BSN programs. I am a transfer from community college with a 3.6 GPA, international volunteer experience, hospital work experience, excellent reference letters and many other extracurriculars.

Any ideas about my chances of admission to those schools?

And does MCPHS give a lot of grant money? I don't qualify for FAFSA and its expensive to attend their accelerated BSN.

I finished sending in all my applications now I'm super anxious waiting for all them to come back!!!!

I've been working and going to school for so long, I'm ready for the REAL nursing part and clinicals!

Has anyone taken out money for living expenses on their student loans? Good or bad idea? How does it work when you're applying for an apartment, you just show them proof of your loan?

Mcphs does not offer Transfer students the Merit scholarship 😔 many other scholarships are available however.

For anyone reading my post, I wanted to give you an update on my acceptances. I was accepted in January to both UMASS Boston and MCPHS University. I was denied acceptance to Simmons Nursing program and I am still waiting on an answer for VCU, which I've read it comes in April/May. At this point I have chosen UMass Boston but am keeping a little bit of an open mind for VCU because I currently live in Richmond. I am planning to move up to Boston in June, get settled, find a job and take Microbiology at Bunker Hill CC. I have lived in Boston before and gone to Bunker Hill so I think this transition will be fairly smooth. Feel free to message me about any questions on the application process or any other details...
