Nursing Students School Programs

Hi all!

Just wanted to start a forum for TJU FACT-1 or 2 applicants to the Center City location. I submitted my app August 10 and had my interview yesterday. Feel free to contribute and ask questions! Let's help each other out during this stressful process : )

Contact Admissions to check up on your app!

I interviewed last week and was accepted today! So excited to start a new beginning!

I know some of you mentioned Penn was your top choice. Are you waiting to hear back from Penn before guaranteeing your slot?

Congrats @tdixon1828! I had to submit my deposit because the deadline was last month and I didn't receive my invite to interview at Penn till just yesterday. Grateful to have been accepted to Jeff though and would be thrilled to go

Hi everyone!

I found out yesterday that I was accepted into the FACT-1 Center City program! I wanted to share my application process to help anyone who's looking to apply to the program.

I graduated with a B.S. in Biology with a GPA of 3.83 in 2013. I basically had all the pre-req from my degree, but was missing nutrition. I took this course online during the summertime at my local community college. I was able to apply after finishing my class, but I wanted to hold off until I had some medical related experience to strengthen my application. I was hired as a nurse aid in the end of October.

After a few weeks of working, I sent my application on Nov. 9th. I received an email Nov. 16th for an invite to interview. There were 3 dates to choose from, but I had to choose to interview on Nov. 22nd because I had work on the other available dates. 5 days later on Nov. 27th I was accepted into the program!

There were 19 people being interviewed that day. We were split into smaller groups. I was in a group of 5. We were interviewed by one person. Likes others have mentioned before the interview was very casual and not as nerve racking as I thought it would be.

I'm not sure if this is normal have the application process done so quickly but I am so happy this process is over and I'm looking forward to begin school!

I hope this helped anyone who's looking to apply. If you have any questions, I'm more than happy to answer :)

Hey guys... is this for the spring for the fall. I wanted to apply for the fall but only want to after I hear back from another school which is feb. 1st

Hi all -

Wondering if anyone else is in the same boat as me in terms of application timeline. I applied on 11/15/17 for the FACT 1 in May 2018. I only had two of my seven pre-reqs completed and submitted at that time. I just completed my third and I'm waiting on my transcript from community college. I was a business undergrad major and had zero classes that were able to roll over. I'm expected to finish all of my courses by May 2018. I haven't heard back from Jeff since my application and I'm wondering if it's because my pre-reqs are still being completed. Anyone else in the same boat? I'm nervous that spots will fill up before I even get a chance to interview. Considering reaching out to admissions but I don't want to look too desperate :)

Thanks in advance and congrats to those who have been accepted!

I have a similar timeline as well, and applied late November. I'm a Philosophy major and took 2 of the science courses (that were eligible to transfer) back in undergrad.

I'm also waiting to send over my transcript from CC, where I'm taking most of the pre-reqs. My Fall 2017 transcript would complete the "3 of the 5" science requirement - somewhere on the website I remember reading that Jeff Adcom cannot review your application unless you have 3 of the 5 science courses completed

So, yeah, I'm hoping that the spots don't fill up before as well!

As far as your GPA do they base it soley off that ? Is it ok to have a C in your prerequisite course because some of the schools ive recently applied to I didnt get accepted even with a good GPA.

Hi All! Is it too late to apply for the 2018 program? I understand the deadline isn't until February, but I was wondering how many seats are still remaining in the program. Congrats to those interviewing and accepted!

I was wondering the same thing. I don't want to apply until I hear back from the school that I want to get into which should be Feb. 1st :( this sucks lol

Can anyone shed some light on what kinds of questions were asked in the interviews? I read in past threads that they mainly ask situational questions.

I submitted my application back in October and was told they needed my final fall transcript before they would make a decision. I just submitted my transcript (of course on a holiday week, so I'm sure response will be delayed) and I am so anxious to hear about an interview! I had a Penn phone interview last week that I thought was pretty easy. They just asked typical questions like why I wanted to be a nurse, when did i decide to be nurse, what was my goal in college, why specifically about their school, how I handle stress in work and at home, how I handle difficult people, and then asked if I had any questions. Hope that helps anyone looking for interview preparation. Good luck everyone!

Edited to add that I went to Jefferson's information session and an open house earlier this year and the director of admissions, both times, specifically mentioned that being asked to submit a fall transcript is not a bad thing at all. Someone I know who was rejected this year heard back within days, so if you're waiting to hear back from them chances are it's good news!
