Dedrid Thanks! Were the 2 pre-req courses difficult (Micro had papers due?)? Are the textbooks expensive? I'm trying to save as much as possible if at all possible. How often did you go to class per week for Micro & Med Term? Have you start the Patho & Pluralism courses? If so, were these courses difficult at all? If needed, does WCU provide tutors or a really good support system if needed? Also, I thunk you mentioned that the Instructors are awesome but the Administrators are difficult to work with. How do the Administrators impact the student experience? Thanks so much for answering all of my questions in advance! :)

txnurstud,

What pre-req do you have left to take, besides the required ones by WCU? I start patho the next term along with 40 something other people. Some books are expensive but you get a voucher to help you also you can borrow some from other students. I have two books loaned out when are you starting I might be able to loan some to you also there are several book places you can rent books! I have not had any problem with Instructors or the Dean of Nursing. If you need tutoring once your enrolled you will talk to Student Services. When you start you will get with students in your class and the Instructors will work with you. If I know what classes you need to take I can give you info on those classes! I currently go to class 2 days for Micro you have a 5 hr lab,and 1 for the other class. Do you have kids or work? One reason I decided to come to WCU was their schedule it matched my work and kids schedule. I am going to Pm you some more info. Hope that helps!

Oh great news about the Instructors & Student Services & Books!!!

I need to take all of the Sciences (A&P, Chem, Micro), both Psycs, Cultural Pluralism, Med Term, & Patho. Yes, I have 2 children and was recently laid off (I do not plan to work during the entire program). Actually, I am extremely interested in WCU, bcuz I already have a bachelors degree and most of the TX colleges and universities will not transfer my course bcuz I took my college was on a quarter-based system. The only schools that would transfer all of my courses that are on a quarter-based system is Baylor and TCU which are ROUGHLY priced at the same price as WCU. But these schools require additional courses that are not needed for a 2nd bachelors student.

Yes, please feel free to send me a PM. Thanks again for sharing!

Where are you in the application process? If you have all of this to take then I would come and start here unless they said you can't start until August? When did they say your eligible to start? If you wait you could lose your spot to other people!. Sorry about the layoff! I got your email I will pm you with class info! Have you started with financial aid yet?

I am accepted into the program...I have my Financial Aid & Registar appt early next week. They told me that I must attend the New Student Orientation next week as well. As you know, I will have more info about my schedule, but I'm slated to start on June 16th though. I have started the process with Financial Aid.

Welcome aboard! Go ahead get your Financial Aid done and process because that secures your seat in the classroom! Then you will get your schedule and I will guide you on your email what to do! Do you know what class you will be taking first? With that schedule you will not start Nursing until next year but it will go by fast! Some students did not get in you were one of the lucky one to go ahead and start! I will pm you.

 Thank you!!! :roflmao:I'm so excited I hope to start off with Anatomy, Intro Psych, Physiology & Lifespan but as we know it's up to the Registrar.

Yes, I know I won't start Fundamentals until late January 2015 :yeah:but I'm excited that I could possibly get all of the above classes done in roughly 6 mos (all Sciences, both Psychs, Med Term, Pluralism, Patho) which would be amazing compared to other Universities. Whoever said WCU was not accelerated...not sure I would agree with all of that being said :x3:; woo, there is no way another college/university would allow a student to take all of those classes in 2 semesters (the separate terms in between the semester helps out tremendously). This is similar to how I got my 1st degree.

Great!!! Thanks again for ALL of the info you have shared thus far! Look fwd to your PM or email.

It is accelerated and intensive! The courses are alot of work, I emailed you.
