OCU Kramer - Fall 2017

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

I am starting OCU's accelerated BSN program in Fall 2017 and would like to connect with others who are staring the program this Fall or perhaps started in Spring 2017. The reviews are a bit concerning, there appear to be far more negative reviews than positive. If there are any current students around, please share your insight, both good and bad. I've noticed that the NCLEX pass rate has declined over the past few years, which is concerning. I wonder if this is due to their acceptance of all applicants. I've not applied to any other programs, but it appears that this program attracts those who can't get into other reputable programs. As anyone else noticed this?

Hello! I am a current student. I have noticed the negative reviews. Honestly I think that has more to do with the need for Kramer to have stricter admission standards. Not everyone is ready to study for nursing school. I hate to say that but it is true. It takes a great deal of maturity and determination to make it through nursing curriculum. I thought my previous science degree and work history would make nursing school easy but to put it lightly...first semester was a humbling experience. They have made things harder for students to get into the program and dismissal occurs after the failure of two courses. In the past this was not the case. I am happy that they have done this. I think reviews may also be based on students thinking that paying a high tuition negates spending ample time studying and working hard. This school is just as tough as every other nursing program across the board. I am proud of my Kramer education and all that it has taught me. I am in my final semester and I can say it was all worth it. I made straight A's, I worked, and I won scholarships. You got this. Best advice for this fall...play the game. Don't let the reviews deter you...if you are willing to work hard you will excel in this program and be a great nurse!!!
