MCC acceptance letters???

Nursing Students School Programs

I just submitted my application for the fall semester to McLennan Community College. Does anyone know when letters go out? I know they don't even meet until June....

I only have 39 points :-/ My grades are awesome, but I haven't taken growth and development yet (taking it summer 1) and I haven't moved to McLennan County yet (moving in 3 weeks). I am SO stressed about it! But, I will have 46 points in Sept, if I have to re-apply

Anyone else just submit their application to MCC???

Did you have any luck? I am kind of in the same situation. I'm going to be applying for the spring program, but I am really freaking out because I only have 43 points. I haven't taken AP2 and Psych 2314. I also don't live in the county, but neither does one of my friends. He got his acceptance letter the other day for this fall.

I have not received my rejection letter yet, but I am pretty sure I didn't get in. I only had 40 points this time around. BUT, I am currently taking Lifespan and I am taking the intro anatomy class in Summer 2 (to replace my B from Biol 1 from 12 years ago) for an additional 6 points total. I didn't expect to get in this time around, but thought why not give it a try. I heard that 43 points was the cut-off, so you may have gotten in! Let me know once you hear!!!

just take that psych class online during summer 2 - it is really easy so far! I just got a 94 on the first test and my average is a 98. Take Dr. Morris - she is really nice and everything is open book!

We may be starting at the same time!

I wrote that last comment before I realized that I could reply directly to you - sorry! :-)

See I was looking into that, but when I looked up stuff about her they complained about how you couldn't get an A in her class? So is she really not that bad?

I didn't apply for the fall, but I know some people that did and got their letters already. This shot at spring will be my first try(: I just really don't want to have to wait until next fall :( and yeah it was worth a try! You never know what could have happened! That's why even if I don't get these classes I need at least I tried!

I talked to clark today and she said just because some people get in with a certain amount of points doesn't mean anything. I haven't taken the hesi yet (i meant to say earlier i might have 43 points lol), but my friend said something about a personality test on there? I'm guessing that has something to do with it. She said it depended on the applicant.

that is so strange because Clark told me it was based STRICTLY on points! I had 40 points this time around. My biol1 from 12 years subbed for my intro anatomy, but I got a B in it. Other than that, I have A's in AP 1&2, Psyc 1, micro, chem and whatever the other pre-req is (comp1, I think?). I basically have all A's except for that stupid biol1 class!! I made a 96 overall on the HESI (98 math, 94 reading), and I included two letters of recommendation. I am going CRAZY over here waiting for my letter!!! Even if it's a rejection letter, at least I will know!

Morris seems fine to me. I am doing very well in her online class. I don't know why anyone would say it's impossible to make an A - unless they just flat out don't do the work. Everything is open book and you can retake the chapter quizzes as many times as you want until you get a 100. I have a 98.8 right now with unit 1 down. And she seems SUPER nice over email.

You could take AP2 and lifespan online in summer 2 and greatly increase your chances of getting accepted in Sept. I will definitely get in for the spring, if I got rejected this time. I don't ever trust rate my professor - it seems to me that the only people who go online and rate are the people who don't do well, bc they refuse to put forth the effort!

Your friend is the second person I have heard of that got his letter :-/ My BIL goes to cross fit with a girl who just got her rejection letter for the fall - this was her second time applying

oh yea - I meant to say that AP2 is WAY easier than AP1!!! At least for me it was! IF you really learned AP1, then AP2 is a BREEZE!

Well I think she said that because I told her me and my friend have the same amount of points and that's when she said it depends on the applicant. I'm just guessing it has something to do with that one section in the hesi.

I really hope ap2 is easier because I had sparks last semester and OH MY GOSH lol she was the best, but man there was so much to study. I really want to take them online, but they're all on campus. So I think I'm just going to apply with the points I have.

Yeah my brother and my boyfriends friend also got their acceptance letters. Maybe you should call up there?

I tried to reply but it wouldn't go through! I got rejected - I only had 40 points and a 3.7. They accepted 43-47 points and 4.0 GPA. In Sept, I will have 46 points and a 4.0.

How do you have 43 points? If you don't have all co-reqs, haven't taken the HESI and live out of county, the best you can have is 40, I think!!

Take AP2 and Lifespan in summer2 - lifespan is super easy so far! and I studied constantly for AP1 and I rarely studied for AP2. If you really lean red AP1, I promise you, AP2 is a breeze!

Good luck either way - we may be going through the program together! :-)

No, you get 40 for completed pre reqs and 3 points for the hesi. I have a 4.0 in my pre reqs and I pray I get those 3 points for the hesi! And you have to have all your coreqs completed and all a,'s to get the 3 points for that. I just had two more to take in order to have those 46 points :/

We just might end up in it together! I really hope so (: me and my friend are going through it. My boyfriend is too, but he won't have enough points to apply for the spring so maybe next fall, but my friend is lucky she gets that extra point for being in County lol

So they only chose people with 4.0s? This lady told me it's supposed to be easier to get into the spring! I sure pray she is right!

OH! Study for the HESI! I missed that third point by one point on my reading score, so I only got 2 points for mine - I was so frustrated! 1 stupid point!!

It makes sense that it may be easier in the spring, because maybe not as many people apply that time around. If you have a 4.0 and 43 points, you should be good!

I will have to look you up when I start!

Oh my gosh you must have been so frustrated! Well now you have a chance to retake it (: I'll be taking mine July 8 and I have 2 more chances after that. I hate that you have to wait an entire month to retake it :angrybird1:

And thank you that helps! Everyone seems to be so sure of me, except me :/

For sure, we will! I'll probably message you back on here as soon they send those letters our lol
