Is it possible to change your enrollment counselor at GCU?

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

My enrollement counselor is useless. I applied in Dec 2011 for admission to the nursing program but am still waiting to hear results. I call her all the time and leave her messages, then she will call me after 3 weeks to B.S. me. Her favorite line is " I had you on my list to call" or My all time favorite,,,I will email her and when she finally gets to emailing me back weeks later, she will say "Thanks for your email Alibaba, I will be calling you by 5pm today". Then I will wait...and wait,,, and she doesn't call. Repeat pattern and this has been my whole experience with GCU so far.

Oh,,,another of my favorite things.... I will ask her when I will find out my admission status and she will say that she has an appointment with her manager that day to review my file to see which of my credits will transfer, then they can make a decision...Seriously, she has told me the same line at least once a month since January. I am still waiting to see if she had that meeting with her manager to review my transcript.

Ok....

Vent over.

At this point, I guess the question really is, If this is how they treat you before you even get in the door, why I am still willing to attend this school (if they ever look at my file) knowing they do not value honesty and respect?

I'm sorry you're having a difficult time. I'm in the online RN-BSN program and I had zero difficulties. My enrollment counselor was extremely helpful and timely. I think from the time we first spoke until I signed on was maybe 2 weeks tops. I'm halfway through my third class and really don't have any complaints. I think maybe you need to ask to speak to a higher up or tell her that you want a different counselor altogether. That's just my .02 cents. I really have been pleased with GCU so I hope you can get this issue resolved!

GCU is horrible. I received my masters there and the lies i had to put up from the financial aid people made no sense. Run while you can if you can. Read the experiences of others on the complaints board. Beware!

GCU is horrible. Run while you can.

I had signed up for GCU, they charged me $1900, I started school, then at the end of the first week, they pulled me out and told me that I could only attend their "international" school because I was not born in the US, despite the fact that I have lived here for 20years, am a citizen and have all my pre-requisites here. I will not gain a BSN as I paid for. They reschedule my start date to be with the international contingent doing an international BSc. They will not give me back all of my money and I am mad. They treat you with contempt and lies. So mush for "christian" values.

GCU is not a horrible school, and I'm learning a lot from their program...however, their counselors aren't always my favorite.

You can request a new one by contacting their supervisor. Just keep going up until you get some resolution.
