Hello all i am in the columbus OH area i am currently doing research on both hondros college and chamberlain, any feedback on either? both positive and negative opinions i would really appreciate! im undecided on which one to apply for ive read chamberlain is a bit pricey but have read alot of positive things. hondros ive heard both good and bad any feedback from grad. students or current students? Thanks!!

Hi jaybri24...I am in the same boat as you here in Columbus. I have applied to both schools, passed the HESI and completed the FASFA. I did hear a lot of negative things about Hondros but it does seem like it was when it first open and they were working out the kinks. I did like the campus and staff that I have dealt with..Seemed very down to earth..Chamberlain campus was really impressive and I know that graduates of Chamberlain are well respected in the city and by potential employers. I have two good friends who went to Chamberlain and they have great things to say about it but they didn't have a life for 2 years. Although, I am sure that is to be expected from Hondros as well. For me, it will come down to financial aid. Chamberlain seems like it may be a lot more and it may be the deal breaker for me. I have another meeting at Hondros this Thursday and should hear if I got into Chamberlain sometime after November 8.

yes, i am undecided also because i did read alot of neg. thins about hondros but the dates are like 2 years ago and yes ive also hear chamberlain students are respected and that overall it is a good scholl but i did also hear it is very pricey!! was the entrace exam at hondros dificult?? and well good luck and let me know what outcome you receive from each school i would really appreciate it

Sorry, just saw this....I took the HESI through Chamberlain, but its the exact one Hondros would give you...It was no joke..I did well, but I cant stress enough to study math for it. Particularly ration/proportions, multiplying and dividing fractions..Math has never been my strong suit, but spending a little time studying the basics helped me alot...I ended up scoring a 89% overall. I never took Biology or Chemistry in High School so I basically BS's my way through that section. I did get in to both schools but ended up choosing Hondros. Chamberlain is very well respected but I really liked Hondros's "ladder approach". Plus, the cost was significantly less. My student loans/grants covered the majority of it. I start in January and I really feel like I made the right choice. I felt like I fit in at Hondros and Chamberlain seemed a bit stuffy to me. Good luck to you and let me know if you are starting Hondros...we may be classmates!
