Help! County College of Morris program or (hopefully) Fall 2017 Montclair State University

I was currently accepted into the Spring 2017 night nursing program at CCM! My only problem is I don't like the fact that it is at night, and waiting for the daytime fall program will take too long. I have all my pre reqs done, micro will be done at the end of this semester. Montclair State University has opened a new nursing school for RN-BSN, but they are waiting to be approved for a BSN generic program hopefully starting Fall 2017. I am thinking of transferring to MSU for spring 2017 and taking more classes for my BSN until the program starts in the fall to apply and take the nursing classes. Is it risky to transfer without knowing if they will definitely have a BSN program? Should I stay at CCM and do the night classes? I have the anatomies done, intro to chem done, micro almost done, english, and some bachelors classes. If anyone that has gone through CCM night nursing program can please let me know of their experience, that would be great! :)

Hey how are you? I'm kinda actually in the same situation. I just finished all my prereqs in PCCC, including (statistics, spanish and public speaking) and my original plan is to transfer to WPU for fall 2017. However, I applied to CCM for fall 2017 just to back me up just incase if my plan does not work out. As a transfer student, the reason why I chose CCM is bc you do not need to take any entrance exam such as Hesi or TEAS, but the bad part about it is that they dont transfer your GPA from another college. So basically my GPA will go back to 2.5 if I decide to do my last 2 years in CCM :unsure:

Hi there so a few days ago I just began my first semester of CCM nursing program. It's very intimidating! They expect you to study daily for 3 hours and to be prepared before each lecture. I got sent to Morristown hospital for clinicals so I'm actually pretty excited for that. I don't mind having to go at night that much, there's less traffic getting there! However, I will apply to backup schools for fall 2017 such as WPU and MSU just incase I want to change my mind. You're right about transfer gpa, and all your classes transfer as Cs unfortunately. You can try applying for fall, as they have a larger acceptance rate. I've heard going straight to get your BSN is better because you get it done with right away. I'm very nervous for this semester! I'm going to see how I do, and if not I will always have my other options. You should find about about MSU as they may possibly start a BSN program in the fall! Good luck to you

I know a girl in my class right now who transferred from another university in NJ, so you have a chance of getting in for fall, since they will take 100 students instead of just 60. You'll find out if you've been accepted around may.

Thank you for the insights! I heard CCM is affiliated with Rutgers, so if you qualify you can start taking courses in Rutgers for BSN while doing your clinicals in CCM so if when you do you RN-BSN, you are ahead :) . Anyways, am really nervous & I'm praying I get into WPU. Currently have a GPA of 3.49 and have done all my prereqs for there. I heard it's very competitive but hopefully the odds are in my favor, bc I really just want to go straight for BSN that's only going to take 2-3 years instead of going for ADN for two years í ½í¸ª Which is insane. Anyways, I just want to say goodluck on your clinicals. Start asking about the RN to BSN for Rutgers so you can plan ahead!

Hi i don't wanna sound so creepy but i was looking for ccm nursing students because I'm a ccm student and i am on edge on getting into the program, I'd just like to know what you're grades were before being accepted into the program ? Gpa? And did you repeat any classes ? I'm sorry I'm just trying to get a feel of the nature of the program !

Hey there! Not creepy at all, I was in your position a year ago. I got straight As except for a B in comp 1. My gpa was about a 3.9, but don't worry. I have friends who got all Bs in the pre reqs and they are in my class now. I did not repeat any classes. Are you applying for spring or fall semester? It's easier to get into the fall semester since it is a larger class size. I am currently going into nursing 3. Nursing is a hard major in general, just need to dedicate study time and do your best :)

Does anyone know how the point system works to get accepted into the program? Also what happens if you have all c and 1 b in sciences ?

You get points for the 4 sciences:

A=30

B=20

C=10

I'm not sure about +'s and -'s

Then the 2 English classes have half the value

A=15 etc

You also need a gpa of at least 2.5 but they only look at the points for the 4 sciences and 2 English. They add up all the points and rank the students high to low and they go down the list offering people a place until they are filled up.

Oh and if you have a previous degree they will also give points for that
