Georgia State University (GSU) Spring 2018

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Hi everyone!

The deadline for the ACE application for Spring 2018 at Georgia State University was yesterday and so now the wait begins! Who else applied?

My stats are:

Undergrad GPA: 3.7

Pre-requisite and Science GPA: 4.0

TEAS score: 91.3

Good luck to everyone and hopefully we'll all be meeting in January!

I called the school of nursing just out of curiosity to see if they're open today and turns out, they are. I asked if they're still processing applications and making decisions and was told, "decisions are forthcoming. Keep an eye out in your mailbox this week for a letter from us." I asked if all decisions would be coming out in the mail as opposed to an email and he said yes. I recognized his voice as the same guy who told me last week that we would be receiving an email first... what is going on?!

I am pretty sure that an Email and regular mail was sent out to those who were accepted. For those either rejected or wait listed, its only regular mail. That is how it sounded to me when explained by the nursing dpt

@Mkin When I called on Thursday, I was told the same thing you just said and when looking at threads from previous years, that's the way it's always been. But this semester, I, as well as another poster, have been told twice that it would only be paper mail for everyone. That doesn't make any sense to me because, wow- talk about inefficient, and a friend of mine got an acceptance email last week.

Are we on a secret reality TV show where they try to see how much stress we can take until we break?

I guess once the first person gets their acceptance we'll know how acceptance notifications are going to come out. There was one person on here that received their acceptance WEEKS ago, but to the program they didn't apply for. Daintyelbow, how did your friend that was accepted into traditional get the news? Sorry if you already mentioned it.

All I know is that I'm still obsessively refreshing my GSU email even though I KNOW it refreshes itself. I can't help it. Happy Thanksgiving everyone! Please be safe!

Secret TV show, lol. Better not be Punk'd.

Yes, my friend accepted to the traditional track received an email to her GSU email account on Thursday around 4PM. With all the different information coming out of the department, I'm not really sure what to expect. I know a little birdie in the department (not revealing my sources ;) )- I'll see what I can find out.

Yes daintyelbow!!! Time for some deep undercover research!

Yeah, I really don't see how all of us could have been waitlisted or rejected. Pretty much everyone's stats are just like those from previously accepted students from previous semesters.

I got in! I applied for traditional and ACE, but got traditional. I got my email earlier this morning, but I'm out of the country and was just able to check my email.

I just read the attachment for the acceptance email. It says that the document needs to be signed and returned by November 27th. I'm assuming that means that acceptance letters should be out before that date in order to return by the 27th. Hopefully everyone will hear something by tomorrow afternoon.

Hi Maddie! What were your stats and volunteer hours or work experience, if you dont mind sharing?

Congratulations!!! :D i wish you the best

GPA: 3.7 TEAS: 85

I had close to 300 volunteer hours and I have worked in the medical field for 8 years. I have a lot of experience with medical missions abroad and also within the Atlanta community, but I was concerned that they weren't going to pay attention to anything other than my GPA and teas score.

Thank you so much!!!! You go girl :D
