Denver School of Nursing Question

Nursing Students School Programs

Hi, I have a couple questions - I'm seriously considering applying to DSN. I have a great GPA (currently 4.0) and only a semester left before I can apply. My issue is I have no health care experience, as I cannot make even half of what I make now without a degree in the medical field and I have a family to support. Is it still possible to be accepted? Also, according to their website they accept federal financial aid? I see a lot of people talk about the expense - has anyone had help with financial aid?

Thanks for all your help!

From recent students it sounds like they really want people to have their CNA cert but maybe if you have a 4.0 it wouldn't matter? I'd say atleast go and do some volunteering somewhere just to have something to put down on the application. And also i just got an email that said you have to use either the Sallie Mae loan or in house financing even if you get grants or scholarships. I'm assumming the in house is like a bill and then you just pay it with whatever money you get for school. I find out in 3 1/2 weeks if I get in so if I'll post here then! I applied with a 3.3, I have my CNA certification and I just started volunteering recently so we shall see. I also applied with 3 more prereqs to finish this fall so I don't know how much that will factor into their decision. Hope this helped!
