Hey everyone! Haven't seen a thread yet for the CSUCI Nursing in Goleta yet. Applications just closed today and I'm hoping to see what kind of feedback is available...Anyone else apply for Spring '16?

I think I'm going to end up with around 29 points. Originally thought I could calculate at 35 but a few of my requirements didn't get accepted. :(

What about everyone else? Crossing my fingers since I live in Goleta and work at the hospital out here...would love to stay!

Hey!! I just found your thread. I applied for spring as well. I sent a email to Mia at the front desk and she said we should be finding out from the college around the end of September. Crossing my fingers as well.

Oh god I'm already getting stressed out about it, haha. If you don't mind me asking what was your point range and supplemental criteria like?

Hey! So happy I found your thread. :) I am SO stressed!!! I keep checking my nursing account daily to see if there were any changes, haha. This is the only school I applied for, I love the cohort model and small class size plus I really don't want to leave SB.

Does anyone know when we will find out if we were accepted? And how - through email, the nursing account, or by a letter in the mail? I've been reading threads from previous years and the point cut-off (33-34?) is really stressing me out, because i'm assuming it's increasingly competitive each year. Although at an info session this summer they said (if I remember correctly) that last year the cut-off was 29, but people from the reserve list eventually got in with the lowest being 25 points... So basically I don't know what to think/expect, because I have no idea where I'm standing. I guess it all depends on this years applicant pool.

Also, nayhru, how do you know which (if any) supplemental criteria/requirements were not accepted? :( I turned all of mine in, but I'm not sure if a couple of them will count. I'm sorry some of yours didn't, that's a lot of points. :( This is making me a little nervous.

Anyways, good luck to you and everyone else! :)

The language requirement has changed, so they're more strict on that. I had a certificate from an international school from Spain and two college semesters of Spanish, but I need to either take the CLEP or have a higher degree from an international school.

I also think they're notifying people by e-mail--that's what a friend of mine said when she got her decision. For those that get accepted I think a mailed letter will be sent too. Crossing my fingers!

Thanks for your answer :)

Oh no! I am in a very similar situation (I turned in a letter from my principal at the school I went to in Sweden from kindergarden to 8th grade, but I don't have a high school diploma or a way to test my fluency in Swedish - the CLEP doesn't offer it) so I am guessing I won't get those points either.. It's a bummer the language criteria is so strict.

Ah okay, thank you. The end of Sept can't come soon enough! :)

Hey All !!

I just got a letter in the mail!! So start watching your mail boxes. Super stoked. Hope to see all of you at orientation!!

Omg! Congrats!!

Like a snail mail letter? Haha. I had no idea they would come so soon, I thought end of sept! Did you get anything through email or on your nursing account also? May I ask how many points you had?

So excited for you! I can't wait to hear if I get in also!

Ah! I just got my acceptance letter too!!! Can't wait to meet everyone at orientation :)

Hey all! Just got my acceptance letter as well, so excited! I'm looking forward to meeting you all at orientation next month. :)

I got accepted with 31 points. Currently working as a PCT, had a BA degree, and also had great grades in my science prereqs--overall GPA was lacking at 2.9 but that includes my very crappy community college general ed. Once I started working as a PCT and really loved it, I pushed myself to get As and Bs in all my sciences!

Some people in my classes applied and didn't get in. One person had 34 points but got denied, another with 29 and denied.

Feel so blessed I made it in!
