CSU Chico Spring 2014

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Hi everyone! I've been reading the posts and kept up with the forums, but I have yet to find a post specifically about CSU Chico for Spring 2014. I was wondering if anyone has applied for their Spring 2014 program. I hadn't realize that the program was only going to be 2.5 years, rather than 3, so I'm a bit more excited about applying there.

Oh, and if you don't mind, what are your stats like? If I've read and understood their point system correctly, I should be at 86 or 87 points.

Ab92 does your cc go off points or lottery? Ours here is lottery and the wait is 3-4 years. Sucks! Hopefully yours is better :)

@k2115 Well I'm hoping I get the 3 language points for taking a foreign language during high school so if I get those points, I'll be at 89/90 points. No, I can't retake my TEAS anymore; well not that I can't, I just don't want to. Lol. But yeah, I'm not from the area. I'm 3 hours away. And yes! Not much time to find a place, however, I have already started looking just in case. I hope we get in together too!! And yeah, my CC no longer does lottery, it's a point based system now.

I wish ours was point based too. You said Lodi? My husband is from galt, small world. Did you take three years of foreign language in high school? I wish it was December already!

Hello! I am applying for the Spring '14 semester too. I have 86 or 87 points on my application. That NursingCAS system was kind of a drag, but that's okay. I am from Sacramento and applied to sac state and long beach too! Good luck everyone!

It was definitely more difficult! It'll make it easier for people applying to multiple colleges though. What's your first choice? I would apply other places too, but am kind of stuck here lol

@k2115 My CC is called San Joaquin Delta College. It's a really competitive program. My sister got in the ADN for this semester, so I'm hoping I'll be next! Lol. And yes, I did take a foreign language for 3 years, but we did a block schedule so it looks different. I don't know, I just hope I'll get those points.

@NaCl-ty Good luck! Your points are pretty high as well. I started the NursingCAS application, but I haven't submitted it yet ): I'm scared I'll mess something up.. Anyways, we live fairly close to each other! Hopefully we see each other at Chico.

My husband and brother in law went to delta for awhile. What is the average wait time there? Have you been waiting awhile? I've been on the wait list for a year at mine. I was the same way with my application. I didn't turn it in for about a week after i had finished it.

@k2115 The wait time isn't bad if you've got the grades. It's point based so if you're good with grades and your TEAS, you're pretty much a shoe-in. I applied for Fall 2013, but I didn't get in because of my grades. I took another class to bump up my science GPA so hopefully there's a chance for me in the Spring. But if I got accepted at Chico, I would rather go for my BSN.

Very true, but the point value keeps increasing. Last semester's was the highest it's ever been. I have full points for grades and teas, which puts me at 89 points. But I'm still nervous because it's getting so competitive!

Hey AB92, Chico is actually my last choice. I think I would take Long Beach or Sac State first, however Sac State is getting REALLY competitive and I am not so sure I will get in this Spring. Good luck to everyone!

Deadline is Friday!

Chico State is a fantastic college!! Chico is a beautiful town. I went there right out of high school and attended for 3 years pursuing a teaching credential. I chose a different career path and had to move away from Chico at 21 however, my mother loved the town so much when she came to visit me that she eventually packed up and moved there from Tracy. She has been there ever since. Good luck to those interested in Chico State. I miss it dearly!
