Carolinas College Fall 2016

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Anybody else applied for the Fall 2016 entry to Carolinas College of Health Sciences? I'm fully expecting to not get admitted, my GPA isn't very competitive, but I still can't wait to hear for sure! I am also not applying from the pre-nursing program.

I did, yes. I am not really sure how I will stand compared to the rest of the application class, but I am optimistic. I have two local community colleges that I am fairly certain I will get into as a backup plan.

I feel pretty solid about my community college also. I guess we'll know soon enough. Best wishes!

Do you have any clue which numbers they use in ranking applicants? Undergraduate vs. High school GPA, highest scores on SAT vs. Most recent, etc.?

I have no idea how applicants are ranked, but I wish I did! I went to an information session and I think somebody was trying to pin that info down, too. The speaker was slippery about what a realistically competitive GPA, SAT score, etc, would look like. My impression was that each applicant is considered as a whole, but maybe it just speaks to wild differences between application cycles. ??

I would imagine so. Having an idea of the average applicant would definitely take a little bit of suspense and stress out of the waiting period.

Alternate. I guess I'll ride the list right up until I have to pay the community college!

I applied to Cabarrus CVS and was flat out denied. Good luck to you. I'll be at Stanly starting in the fall.

I was waitlisted as well. I'm going to do the same as you, but I'll plan on going to Catawba Valley until then.

Well, it sounds like we're all set with the back-ups! I'm signed up to take the CPR course on Thursday night, I assume I'll need that for any program.
