Bad grades, starting over?

Hi all,

I began BMCC in fall 2010 straight out of high school not really knowing what I wanted to do in life. First it was liberal arts then I stopped going and returned in spring 2014 and changed it to computer science. Long story short I had to withdrawal my classes because of personal issues so I have 3 classes with a grade W and even before I got a C in English 101, D in Physics and a D in sociology and my GPA is 2.1. Now that I know what I want to do in life I wanted to get back into school but unfortunately I have to deal with my past of getting bad grades. The pre requisites that I need in order to apply for a nursing program.

I understand that some Cuny schools don't allow you to take a class over in order to join a nursing program but I saw somewhere that after 5 years you can request academic amnesty and have the grades wiped off. I wanted to know if this was true and if so which schools do this or is there any school I can transfer to that will allow me to take the courses over and still be able to apply to nursing program?
