ARC LVN to RN Bridge Program

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Hey guys!

This is my first time signing on to this online nursing community. I wanted to see if there is anyone on here that has gone through the LVN-RN bridge program at ARC? I'm already an LVN and have all my pre reqs done at a local community college in Sacramento . I'm currently in the RN bridge program at Carrington College Sacramento. I'm glad I was able to get in to some kind of nursing school but I feel that this program is too fast paced for me and there is really no time for any of the information to sink in. I had gone through the LVN program at Carrington and that was also the case back then, too fast paced and I feel like I wasn't well prepared to start working on the floor and to this day still feel like that. I had my LVN licensed for 3 or 4 years now but I have only been working for a little over a year and honestly still don't feel comfortable. I don't blame it entirely on my education but I feel that it played a huge part in my not being prepared for the real world. But on to the main part. I applied to Carrington twice because I was desperate to become an RN already. Thankfully I got in the second time and am currently in the program. Due to the program being so compact, I am not really retaining anything and I fear that when I become an RN I won't be prepared and well educated. I know that its on my part to study but we go through material so quickly it is difficult for anything to stick.

So at the moment I am currently getting my application together to apply to the LVN-RN bridge program at ARC. My TEAS score is 68% (didn't really study), sciences are all B's and I have A's and B's on the other pre reqs.

I guess my question is for those who specifically have been in the bridge program at ARC or who knows someone that got in. How hard is it to get it? I read on the application that even though I go through the transition course that doesn't garauntee me a spot with the 3rd semester cohort so did a lot of you who took the transition course in the summer have to re apply or did you guys get in the first time? Is it randomized? I'm seeing a counselor in a couple of weeks because its the only available appt but I just wanted to find out from some of you to get some peace of mind.

Hello, I am awaiting to turn my application for the LVN-RN at Carrington in sacramento and you mentioned you took the pre reqs at a local community college. I took all my Pre-Reqs at at the Los Rios but I was wondering if Carrington accepted all the classes. I have read in some threads that the only pre req that carrington is accepting is only Anatomy and Physiology.

Did you start the program?
