Hi- I have a quick question, was hoping someone would know the answer- I'm a student, I start a new rotation on an oncology unit tomorrow. Last week, my group was oriented to the unit and noticed signs outside several patient's rooms that stated that they were not to have any cold or hot liquids.. I know I'll find out the reason why tomorrow, from the nurses, but I'm researching and can't find any information on what this restriction could be for.. Was hoping to go in tomorrow and impress my professor (who wasn't sure of the reason either...). Any information would be greatly appreciated! Thank so much!!

Hello JessieK

I moved your thread to the Oncology forum for a better response.

The patients may be on Oxaliplatin.

This site is a good starting point for your Oncology rotation. It's for patients, but it helps point you in the right direction for more technical information.
