Langston in Tulsa.....

U.S.A. Oklahoma

Anyone going to or has attended Langston in Tulsa??? I will start in the fall and I was curious as to how intense the first semester and really the entire program is. During orientation, all of the administration were wonderful and so helpful, unlike some of the other nursing program adminstration that I have talked to at other schools. They didn't focus on the rules and regulations, but how they hoped that the students would do well and have a good experience. I really felt encouraged there. Anyway people- talk to me!

I turned in my application for Fall of '08. I have all of my courses done if they approve of the ones I have completed at another school in Texas.

To answer your question. This is how I understand it. One part of the application asks you what classes you are currently enrolled in. So, for example, if you still needed to take micro and chem then you just put that you are currently or enrolled. If you get approved your acceptance will be based on you finishing those courses with a minimum of a "c".

Good Luck, I can't wait for them to send me letter so I can know about my acceptance.

How many applicants does Langston get to their program each semester? Does anyone know?

I don't know for sure how many they accept- but I can tell you the average class sizes the last two semesters of entering nursing students have been larger- about 35-40. So, probably close to 80 total for fall and spring. I know they got a grant, so they can accept more students.

Thanks a lot for the information. My goal is to apply for Fall '09. I've definitely got lots of work to do before then!

You will get the pharm and dosage calc early in first semester and throughout the program specific to what you are studying at the time.

I graduated from Langston at UCAT a very long time ago. The program then was solid and you came out of school knowing what you are doing versus some of the new grads I see from other programs today. Always remember "the only stupid question is the one you don't ask".
