occcstudent2012 its really nice to meet you! now we are 3 of 72 how has your summer been? are you currently taking any classes? have you got any of your supplies yet?

Im actually going to get my shoes, lab coat, and the patches for the scrubs this week. I didnt see that there was any specific type of shoe needed just all white right? Ill go try on some NB and see how they are since you like them, did u get them at the Quail Mall or at a NB store? Im going to try ironing on the patches and maybe putting a few stitches in them like you suggested but I may need some help lol. Oh and Im going to grab a stethoscope to, I already have a cheaper one from Medical Assisting so Im going to get a Littmann. Have you guys got a stethoscope yet? I saw some at the outlet mall where I bought my scrubs but they were a little pricier then I saw online with the free engraving.

Before OK i lived in AZ. Ive only been here for 2 years and spent most of the time in Yukon, OK. Still getting used to the city but I love it here way more then I did in Phoenix, Az. Even though I lived there all my life there has always been so much violence. When my hubby and I started a family he was from OK and I wanted to move here to see how it was, and I LOVE it

Im grateful for the opportunity to be in the program with you guys, cant wait to meet you

Gotta make this quick since I am about to take the stupid fetal pig exam. lol I bought my shoes at the NB store. I bought all my uniform stuff, including stethoscope at the Uniform Shoppe which is on May, just south of Hefner.. they give a discount for students. They have EVERYTHING you need, including shoes, but since I knew I wanted NB ones I went to NB.

    Occcstudent, Nice to meet you!!!!!
Back to studying.. Could use some prayers sent my way.

Done with exam and home. I think I did okay. At least with this professor we get to know scores pretty fast. I hope I remembered to put all the rights and lefts lol
Anyway, I was wondering if anyone would be interested in meeting prior to orientation. We could help each other put the patches on the scrubs for instance.
I am really looking forward to starting. I have been waiting for this for so long that I just want to get going on it.

That would be a great idea. Im going to pick up my patches for my scrubs this Saturday. It also says name tags, do we get those in the bookstore or at orientation? The days are counting down and I believe we are officially at 15 days till orientation

You get both the patches and the name tags at the book store. They order the name tags and it takes about 7-10 days for those to come in. I plan on going to campus tomorrow to sell back my A&P textbook. 2 Weeks from tomorrow till orientation! Weeeeeeeeeeeeee

OKNurse2be, I am going into my fourth and final semester in nursing school at OCCC. FYI, if I was you I would not get rid of any of your A&P textbooks. Starting your second semester you will be starting med-surg and even though your not tested on physiology, its always good to have them as a refresher. You will always go over physio in the begining of any disease process. Congratualtions on making it and enjoy the ride!

Thanks for the tip. I really needed the money though so I kind of had no choice. I figured that if I really didn't understand something I could try to google it.
Congratulations on making it to the 4th semester. That is a big accomplishment in itself and before you know it, you can put RN behind your name
