tri c to ats institute of technology

U.S.A. Ohio

If someone started off at tri-c, and did a year there, would they be able to transfer to ATS and graduate from there after a year? Like if they only took non-nursing course at tri-c, such as psychology, and some science classes, like micro and a&p.

That is a good question. I'm sorry I don't have an answer but ATS does have a number on their website that you can call to ask. Also,I'm wondering if you or anyone else has successfully passed the entrance test for ATS, and if so, can you offer any tips for passing, especially the the science section? Thanks!

Why would you want to leave Tri-C for ATS a year into the nursing program?!

I agree...If I went that far at Tri-C, I think I would stay there because credits from those schools(ATS, central school of practical nursing, etc.) aren't easily transferrable as far as I know. ATS doesn't have as long of a wait as Tri-C though. My mother is interested in attending ATS so I have been asking questions and doing research for her.

I wasn't saying a year into the program...I'm just saying what if someone completed their pre-reqs at tri-c...like the science classes...but not the actual nursing classes or clinicals.

They should transfer. Make an appointment with admissions and they will tell you for sure.

I would stay at Tri-C. I have looked into ATS and if you go to Ohio Board of Nursing website you will see that it is not fully accredited, its on provisional or conditional status (not sure which one) because of citiations. I have also heard that when you graduate you will have a hard time finding employment at a hospital (CCF will not hire anyone from ATS). If you plan on working in a nursing home you should be ok but if you want to go on to get your BSN you really need to stay at a fully accredited institution so your credits transfer.
