Hi all,
I am a misplaced Ohioan finally being able to move back. My husband is retiring next year and we are moving Columbus in about 6 months. I am looking for an ED position, not necessarily a trauma center, but one that has good staff/teamwork.
Any suggestions?
Thanks :)

I would suggest looking at Riverside Methodist. I work at Riverside (not in the ER), but I think it is a really nice hospital and the people are very friendly. I got injured at work recently (just a sprained ankle) and the ER staff was great! Good luck with your job hunt!!

Mt. Carmel St. Anns has some of the best people I have ever had the honor of working with. Great team players, minimal backstabbing, no cliques. In 20+ years of nursing first and only crew I've ever worked with that didn't succumb to the usual nursing nastiness.
I am in the process of looking for a home in Columbus, and have found one in the Blacklick area. We haven't made any commitments yet, but can anyone tell me about Mt. Carmel East? Would I want to think about commuting elsewhere, or buying in another area?
MCE-huge ER, insanely busy. I've had opportunities to meet some of their staff. Not particularly friendly to outsiders but seem to be very happy with each other. 2 of my friends work there. I'll touch base with them and see what they have to say. Dr. Hamilton rocks! (ED MD there)
Thanks so much for the info. Appreciate the help from everybody who has responded. I still have at least until after the first of the year to make my decision due to comitments here in Texas before I can move, so if there is any other hints anyone can give me, I would greatly appreciate it!
Ohio Rocks, can't wait to get back!

Sounds like a great place. I am kind of spoiled where I am now, the staff is pretty good here. But my husband is getting out of the military, and after 20 years, I am ready to move back home!

I am trying to work at Nationwide for their pediatrics but if I don't get in (they said i could take up to 6 months to hire another new graduate), then I was really interested in Riverside. I have heard a lot of good things with them! I am still patiently waiting though...:icon_roll
