No job for new grad RN in Cleveland area

Hi everyone!

I am brand new RN (just got my license 3 weeks ago) from ATS institute of technology. I am trying to find job here in Cleveland area and I have no luck whatsoever. UH sent me "sorry" letter saying that they will choose somebody else, CC is not answering at all just like everyone else. Why is that? Is it because I graduated from ATS? May be the problem is my resume? I actually create it at Tri-C Key career place and was told that it looked very nice. Can anyone help me with my questions?

At this point I am starting to questioning my decision to become a nurse.

I'm a new BSN grad, licensed for one month now, in west Cleveland. I've applied to CC, UH, and EMH, plus other offices, nursing homes, among others... Probably close to 75 applications now. I've applied to all "new grad" positions and was told they picked someone more qualified. Needless to say, I've been denied for all other positions where a year of experience is "preferred". I have hospital experience as an aide and a year of tutoring nursing students, not to mention a great GPA. So I understand your frustration! Since it seems that you have to know someone, I'm going to try volunteering at my first pick hospital, hopefully that opens some doors. I'll keep you all posted.

My classmate was valunteering and observing and still..... No one from those places wanted to hire him. He ended up at some long-term facility after 6 months of job hunting. I still have no luck finding job. I am applying everywhere and I have not had single interview. I trully believe there will be a place where HR clerk will say "this guy needs to start somewhere anyways. why not to give him a chance here" and I will get a job.

All I can say: keep looking and you will find job eventually.

You can give me your email and I can email you the information. Its helpful to go on cleveland clinic, Metro and uh career websites if you want to work in a hospital setting.
