Kent State University FNP program
Hi. I am finishing my BSN through Kaplan University (should be done in first half of this year) and planning to apply for family NP program. I do not want to do 100% online FNP program, as I like in-class learning. I did some research and leading toward KSU for my FNP. Currently I have 3.5 years of rehab unit and home visiting for outpatient psychiatric clinic experience. My GPA is 3.54. My ultimate goal is to become MHNP, but I would like to start as a FNP. Anybody here are in this program already? Any suggestions for future student? I work night shift and my day time visiting job is part time, so I can adjust my hours there. Any advice will be appreciated. Thank you, Alex

No job for new grad RN in Cleveland area
My classmate was valunteering and observing and still..... No one from those places wanted to hire him. He ended up at some long-term facility after 6 months of job hunting. I still have no luck finding job. I am applying everywhere and I have not had single interview. I trully believe there will be a place where HR clerk will say "this guy needs to start somewhere anyways. why not to give him a chance here" and I will get a job. All I can say: keep looking and you will find job eventually.

No job for new grad RN in Cleveland area
I figured that being graduated from my school can be a problem.Well, there is nothing I can do about it. I will try (as you suggested) to apply at smaller hospitals. I am aslo considering going back to school for either BSN or MSN (I haven't decided yet). Thank you for advice.

No job for new grad RN in Cleveland area
Hi everyone! I am brand new RN (just got my license 3 weeks ago) from ATS institute of technology. I am trying to find job here in Cleveland area and I have no luck whatsoever. UH sent me "sorry" letter saying that they will choose somebody else, CC is not answering at all just like everyone else. Why is that? Is it because I graduated from ATS? May be the problem is my resume? I actually create it at Tri-C Key career place and was told that it looked very nice. Can anyone help me with my questions? At this point I am starting to questioning my decision to become a nurse.

Why???
I just got my license 2 weeks ago and started applying everywhere I can. No one wants to hire brand new nurse. CC wants "current" CCHS employees only, UH rejected me with "usual" responce and VA preffer BSN. Where to go? I decided to start applying to long-term facilities although I don't really want to. Our family friend asked someone she knew at Metro to help me get into and was told thatMetro freezes hiring process for now.

Phone interview with Cleveland Clinic!!!!
Here is what I heard about CC hospitals.... They will be hiring CCHS employees only for now. This is because of Huron's situation. I am also looking for job ad so far nothing.... One of our family friends just called me and said (from internal source) that Metro is freezing hiring also.

How to get detailed results after you failed.
Thank you... I figured that I will receive same thing again. Honestly, I don't even want to see it since I failed with 75 questions. I guess there is no such thing as detailed results.

How to get detailed results after you failed.
Hi everyone. As you can see by my description, I failed my NCLEX,and this is my second time. First time I failed I receved paper stating that I was "near passing" everywhere. I had 122 question and I ran out of time. Yes, I know I am slow test-taker. I tried to break down every question, and may be that was what "killed" me. I am also Russian immigrant, so please understand that it really takes time for me to answer questions. On my second try I had 75 questions and about 115 minutes. I assume I messed up my second try really badly. Before I went first time I was getting ready strictly by lectures from my review instructor. She really knows material and explain things like not many teachers I had. For the second time I was getting ready only by doing practice tests. I guess I was not doing them enough to be ready, but this is not an issue right now. I am now at the point where I am not sure what approach to take. I probably will be doing more tests (much more :)) and still reviewing my lectures. I really want to get detailed print out of my results. I want to see on what areas I need to spend more time and what areas are my "strong side". Does anyone knows how to get such thing as detailed results. I was searching on pearson vue site, but could not find anything. Shoud I call board of nursing for this? PLEASE HELP. Thank you very much for any suggestions.

ATS Institute of technology nursing program
Hi everyone. If you are looking for LPN/RN program in Cleveland OH, do not even think of applying to the ATS Institute of Technology. Here are some reasons: 1. Administration is rude and unresponsive. I've been calling this school for over a month requesting to speak to the owners, and so far got NOTHING. 2. There are pretty much no good instructors left. They had few, but they all gone. 3. This school has very bad reputation. When I was in my last semester school lost almost ALL Cleveland Clinic facilities for clinicals. Nurses were laughing when we were telling that we are from ATS. Imagine what reputation this school has. 4. If you try to transfer your credits to another school, you will find out that they cannot be transferred. I can continue much longer, but I think I made my point. I am so sick and tired of dealing with this school, that I decided to warn you all before you made wrong move. I hope I help you all.
