New Grad LPN pay (Columbus/Central Ohio area)

U.S.A. Ohio

Published

Hey everyone. Am just getting out there to go on a job app spree...lol. Can wait to use my new license! That being said, does anyone have any input regarding pay rates for new grads in LTC in the Columbus/Central Ohio area? Also any inut on the facilities in the area? I'd like a rundown of the good, bad, and the ugly in the area. Let me tell you I have seen some pretty horrid places even as an aide that I would never again in my life step foot into. So with that being said, any input would be greatly appreciated. How much should I ask for? Should I ask about shift dif? PRN work?

Thanks!

Through the grapevine, I've heard that LPNs in our area can expect to be offered anywhere from 16.00 / Hr to 19.00 / Hr to start. (Your milage may vary). Never hurts to ask about shift diff, and a few facilities do pay extra for being IV certified. As far as PRN work, it's a good way to get your foot in the door, and could lead to a permanent position later on.

Take a look at indeed.com, which is an aggregator site for most of the major job posting sites on the net. Click on the map on the dot for Columbus, and search for LPN jobs. You will see several jobs posted from some of the major facilities here in Columbus.

Good Luck!
