Cleveland Clinic

U.S.A. Ohio

Specializes in CVICU.

I was looking at another thread and came across some info on how they recruit student nurses. I currently live in MI but will finish nursing school next year. My dad and his wife moved to the Cleveland area recently and my dad can't stop talking about the Cleveland clinic. I am starting to think it would not be so bad to move there for a few years to cut costs etc. Can anyone tell me what it is really like working there? Also, do they offer new grads opps in the ICU's? What are the new grad training programs like.

I used to work at the Clinic for 8 years in different areas. While I was in high shcool I did a co op over the summer working on the floors. It was very good experience. I had changed my entie plan and went to school for computers. That was a big mistake and now I am going back to school for nursing. I am applying for a training program that they have every other month as a patient assistant while I go to nursing school.

You may hear some good things about the clinic and you may hear some bad things. I work in a corporate private industry and I am always comapring them to the clinic. I like how the Clinic follows rules and their guidelines you know what to expect from them. The work atmosphere is good they have a variety of shifts even a new parent shift that I am interested in its from 9am - 2pm. You should check out their website. It all depends on what you are looking for. I think the job is all about what you make it. Their is a lot of variety in positions.

When I was working at the Clinic I probably wouldn't give it as much praise like no big deal its just like any other hospital. But now that I have been away from it I miss it and I want to go back there.
