Clark State Medic to RN?

I have enrolled in excelsior but not taken any of the exams yet. I recently learned that Clark State has a medic to RN program (it's basically their LPN to RN but they allow medics to do it also) which is "online/hybrid" with clinicals in the Springfield area.

Has anyone been through this program (LPN or medic, or straight RN) and able to comment on how flexible they are with scheduling the clinical/lecture/exam portions of this class. I'm a firefighter, and RN programs seem to not be interested in coming up with a duty day program (I don't know why, it'd fill up fast and make a ton of money), so I'm looking for something that won't require me to burn hundreds of hours of vacation time.

I'm not thrilled with the stigma of excelsior, plus I was turned off when I submitted my transcript of about 150 credit hours from Columbus State only to be told I need to take some more gen-ed classes like more bio and chem (understandable) but I also needed to take some more english/history classes (absurd).

Anyhow, any tips or ideas you all can offer would be greatly appreciated.

I completed the LPN to RN transition program at Clark State June 2011. When I started, in September 2010, that was the first year they kicked off the Medic to RN program. I heard it was a great success as our instructors were the same ones doing that program too. I also was in hopes of completing a majority of the nursing classes online, but soon found out they carried online classes only based on interest on surveys mailed to students. After those surveys were returned, suprisingly interest was low so they held no online nursing classes. Therefore, I did the traditional classroom/clinicals. I enjoyed it though and thought they had a great program! Let me know if you would like any more information!
