NRP equipment in moms room

I'm just full of complaints today:lol2: We don't have any NRP stuff in any of the moms rooms or anywhere in the vicinity. Not even an ambu bag. The NM says just to grab the baby and run to the nursery (on a different hall) if something happens. That would be a very long run if mom is in the last room on the hall, and one usually is(the only rooms with private showers are at the end and begining of the hall), and I have to run back to the nursery with a coding baby. Probably not a good outcome. Never had it happen (yet). Do you guys without LDRP's have NRP stuff in moms room?

I agree babyktchr. EVERY labor and delivery room MUST have resus. equipment in it. Not to do is a violation of standard of care. And it is the labor nurse's responsibility to ensure it is there, functioning, and complete, as she is the one in the room all the hours during labor. The nursery nurse should be able to enter the room ready to catch and recover baby, not worry if the proper equipment is there or not.*(unless this is a place where the nursery staff are responsible for wheeling in a fully-equipped warmer at a moment's notice---but this is far from optimal, esp in precipitous cases ). Even then, there should be an ambu bag/oxygen and suction and a heated bed for baby in every labor room, without exception.

We have everything in every room (some rooms are usually only for pp but if we got busy they could/would be labor rooms; they are all configured the same). We have headboards over the beds where we usually have 1-2 of everything.

However; we are soon to be splitting into separate L&D and postpartum units - when that happens I'm not sure what they will keep in the pp rooms - good question.
