They are less likely to have the law go after them for aggregates assault or murder when the parents are happy.
That's kind of contradictory to what you said here:

Also, even if it isn't illegal it doesn't mean that if there is a problem that the law won't attack! It has happened here even when the parents were okay with the negative outcome.
Did you mean aggregious, rather than aggregates? I don't know what "aggregates assault" is.

I'm not really sure what you're even arguing now. What does the parents being happy have to do with the credentials a care provider holds? Obviously, if there is a bad outcome, the parents aren't going to be happy, whether it was an OB, a CNM or a CPM that was involved.

And like I said above, OBs and CNMs are not immune to that, simply because of their credentials.

You're saying contradictory things. You said earlier that the law will go after them, even if the parents are not interested in suing or are okay with the outcome.

Parents can be okay with the outcome. That doesn't stop the law from filing charges against the midwife. My point is that the law doesn't generally go after CNMs when a baby dies. I've seen cases of CPMs who were arrested even though parents were not unhappy.

Nothing contradicting. You are missing that lawsuits and legal charges are different.

Anyway, I'm done arguing because it's likely not helping the OP in any way. Your bias against CPMs is clear, we've both told her our opinions.

Good luck with your decision, OP!

Thanks for your input! I know I will be able to apprentice here for a year to a year and a half. And I am desperately looking for a CPM, CNM or someone to get some of my requirements done in the place we are moving too. Nice heated debate happening here haha
