Hey everyone, im new here and i am going to WCU tomorrow to figure out if i want to go there. I am having a difficult time deciding because i dont know ANYONE who has gone there.. and its a TON of money, so i dont wanna spend all that and then be screwed after school. soo my question to you all is if anyone has done this program? or is in it? can you tell me anything about it?? any advice would be greatly appreciated. thank you all so much.

RUN from this School WEST COAST!!!!! I am ready to grad in a couple of weeks. At first it's great, then hell breaks loose when you get into the Nursing classes. You are on your own, self taught program and the teachers, some good ones, but mostly High Power trip ones. Clinical of course!!!!! Have I learn anything, not really. I am scared that I really have not learn what RN does only my LVN exp!!! Prey that things will work out for me, I paid too much money for this school. Also reminder they will no longer have LVN-RN Bridge program, last enrollment is Nov 2009. I did confirm, all they said was they need to concentrate on there BSN program. I suspect something really wrong, perhaps they lost their only accrediation. This program was there money maker!!!!! Something to think about. So for the one's that think it's a great school, wait until you get into the Nursing class. Then let me know what you think!!!! What ever happens just finish and get out. I am so emotional/mentally drained from this school:eek::banghead:

WCU is now CCNE accredited so i'm sure that will make a big difference for those that are looking to continue on to a MSN.

i heard WCU is now CCNE accredited from another thread but i was wondering how you found out?

I'm planning on starting in feb 2010 and I am planning on getting a MSN Anesthesia so I am concerned about the accreditation.

surprising they didn't post this on their website if it's true! they should be proud!

Hi everyone who will be attending WCU in OC, basically CCNE accrediation means they finaly have seperated from the LA Campus. That why they are so proud!!! I attend the OC campus, also I have two more weeks before I graduate, we are currently taking our Exit HESI exams, passed 5 of them!!!

hi i see that you have gone to west coast i was just wondering how you rate your experience there i will be starting at the ontarion campus november 9th but reading alot of the negative comments im starting to have some reservations about it. How were your clinicals and things like that your input would be greatly appreciated thanks.....

Hi,

Here' the real low-down, at first the program is ok General ed classes you can still work while attending. Once you get into nursing classes, things start to get really tuff. Perhaps that's when you want to consider not working, it just depends how smart you are. OC campus things are so bad, disorganized, teachers are from you know what. Ontario, I heard good things so far. You do have have HESI exit exams for each term, starting in your nursing classes, they give you 2 tries to pass, usually the 2nd test is harder. If you do not pass you have to reapeat the entire term for $10,000.00. As you see you can't afford to mess up. Also you will have many careplans, teaching projects, Evidence base papers in APA format, group projects, plus trying to study for your class test, and also clinicals with community service hrs that you have to complete/more papers/teachings as well. You have no life at all my advise is try to stay to yourself or join groups that people are smart/get things done. You encounter some individuals that want you to fail, stay away from negative people if you can. I do believe if you hang out with people that are negative you will end in failure. Stay really focus/positive/take your vitamins like B-Complex/become closer to God. Trust me on this one you are really going to need him!!! I am in my last week, so today I took my Neuro/Multisys test for advance-medsurg/ tomorrow I have two Exit HESI exams and thursday Advance exit HESI, this test we need to pass in order to graduate. It is very hard and beyond stressful, but if you really want it bad, you can make it.

Well they are CCNE accredited now. and I am going to do it. i cant wait. it will be hard as hell, but its for my future and i am not going to be like my SIL and be 29 wen i grad from CC (not that there is anything wrong with that, but im 20 and ill be done at 23. she was there for about 8 years doing prereqs and gen ed and WAITING on the lists. yea, not for me) and for the one that said that they are losing their mind in nursing school, well what did you think it would be? a walk in the park? my SIL was the BIGGEST bitchh ever when she was in ADN school. Like it was REALLLLY bad. but you know what? she got out, she passed and she is working and making good money. and she is nice and happy once again which im sure happy about.

Good for you, I just fininshed Oct 30, just passed my boards Date 11-18-09, Yeah, it's beyond hard, I hated this school. However I made it, I attend LVN-RN Bridge. You are young and should pat yourself on the back for taking the courage!!! But let me warn you, It's very hard!!!! I don't know what campus you are going to attend. So the best too you!!!!!!

west coast university aka rip off school..walk the other way. not worth the 111k for this school(bsn)!! lvn to rn bridge is no longer in exisistance!!they stopped it this month..i would not recommend this school.ontario campus specifically!
