Study/note-taking tips

Nursing Students Student Assist

Published

Hello! I am officially a nursing student (actually on 9/4/12) and looking for some study and note-taking tips. I have read a lot of great information on these boards over the years and you all have given some great advice : ) I'm just wondering if anyone has any tried and true methods that work especially well? I will not be working while in school so I will have more time than some. I have a very supportive and helpful husband and three young daughters, so advice from parents would also be helpful. Thanks everyone : )

Thanks for all of the new input! It is all greatly appreciated and well noted. We are allowed to record IF all students are agreeable to it. If not, we have to stop recording when someone asks a question. I feel like it would be so beneficial to record because if I miss something or need to clarify I can go back and replay it. Thanks again : )

These are all good tips! Sitting in the front row (yes, I'm that girl :-P) helps me a lot because it's almost as if I hear the teachers voice when I'm taking a test and a certain section pops up. Also, when studying for exams, my study group has the first few hours as silent hours... Then once everyone feels OK, we talk through each portion... It really helps me, hearing my classmates teach a concept differently that I've been having difficulty with.
