Do we want to keep shingles lesions dry or moist to encourage crusting over?

Thank you Rose Queen for your unsolicited opinion on another thread. So are you checking my profile and reading my other posts?

You're right admin. I already did the research and noticed that both moistening and drying the lesions are researched and advised to perform as interventions, though they are total opposites from each other. I'll be wordier and explain my prior investigations next time. All I wanted was people to tell be what they think has worked from experience, and I don't personally have the time to write a lot abs expect people to read a lot of these posts. Anyway, my professor and I worked through this and I don't need the answer anymore.

I think you owe Esme an apology.....

Moosh....I think if people have the personal time to answer it is the best practice to spend personal time if you wish appropriate answers. I know I spend a phenomenal amount of personal time here so I can help my fellow nurses. You get back only what you give.

Here at AN...we are a nursing community. We are not Yahoo or ask Jeeves. We are a professional community that strives to make each and every nurse the best nurse he/she can be. We do not provide answers to questions. We require ALL students to tel us what their research has revealed to them and what they think about the data they discovered. Then and only then can you make the best clinical decisions based on the evidence researched.

This is a HUGE part of the nursing profession. Using and developing you critical thinking skills and application of the research to every situation.

You are a student and developing those skills. I frequently read students past posts to see where they are in their education so I may better taylor my response to where they are in their education. I have different expectations of a senior nursing student ready to graduate than I do of someone in the first week of their education. So yes many members read past posts to best answer the questions posted here. An occupational hazard amongst nurses is that we are always going to get the most information possible to then formulate the best possible solution/answer.

As you progress through your education and gain the necessary experience you will see how important this is to the nursing profession.

Allnurses is a supportive community that promotes the profession and aims to help nurses be the best nurse they can possibly be...I hope this helps understand what is important here at AN.

All the best.
