Prioritizing nursing Dx

Could someone help me put these in priority according to Maslows. I'm having trouble deciding.

Risk for falls

Constipation

Anxiety

Activity intolerance

Thank you.

I couldnt figure out why ppl were saying that safety was first on maslows... yes thankyou Esme, it is bottom to top. Safety is first with every single patient no matter if there is a risk for falls or injury or not, however, that is different than prioritizing NDs. If there is no risk for diagnosis, arent you still gonna make sure your pt is safe. And again, this poster said Activity intolerance not impaired physical mobility, that could just mean they can walk a few feet then get tired and have to sit. I still see constipation above that.

...regimen = a routine or plan; regime = a system of government...
fyi, "regime," in one of its several meanings, is synonymous with "regimen," e.g. "antibiotic regime." In fact, this usage is the first one listed in Merriam-Webster's online dictionary. In this case, either word will do fine.

Hmm, here is my 2 cents, sleep is also on the first level of Maslow's, but I wouldn't prioritize, for example, insomnia, over risk for falls while using Maslow's, even though risk for falls is on the second level. Sex is too, yet I wouldn't prioritize ED above risk for falls either (say because they are on blood pressure meds which is causing them ED and making them dizzy when they stand up). Also, constipation isn't synonymous with bowel obstruction or being unable to pass any excrement at all. I would agree though that you have more time to catch complications with constipation than if a patient is at a risk for falling. But I suppose if you are purely going off Maslow's you could organize them that way. In our program though, I'm pretty sure we were taught to classify risk for falls as a big, big one since they are common and can be very dangerous. But as was mentioned, everywhere teaches a bit differently and without more information, it's really hard to say!

Insomnia and ED are not mentioned here.

The pp was giving examples: the point is, Maslow's may have certain tiers in meeting needs, but in the nursing realm, in all patient cases, safety will be a priority, as well as there are going to be needs thy have more prioritization than others.

Pretty sure we have established the fact that safety is a priority but thanks fir the reiteration.

No problem....just clarifying the root of the PP's post. :)
