Nursing Students Student Assist

Published

Hi everyone. I figured that I would post here and not under the student's section because I didn't see a lot of posts like this there. Plus, I figured I could use the advice of others who have been working in the nursing profession for a while. I'm a second year nursing student and I'm working on my Senior Thesis Project. I'm starting the project a semester early to get ahead, but I also haven't started clinical or proper nursing school yet. I'm really stuck on ideas for a thesis and was wondering if anyone has done anything like this before and would have some advice. My original idea had something to do with HPV vaccinations and college students, but that didn't work out. I'd like to do something similar. If anyone has any suggestions or advice, I'd really appreciate it!

If you have not started in clinical settings, ie havent actually seen patients yet, why are you trying to pick a thesis? Why dont you focus on learning and experiencing some health care before you pick a topic based on your thoughts now? A thesis paper, especially choosing the topic, should be something that evolves from this time gaining clinical and theoretical knowledge.

There is a reason you are in school, to learn. At this point in your education, you have yet to find what interests you. Maybe your teachers have suggested to start thinking about a topic, but don't be that student whats to get ahead but really just ends up missing the point.

Perhaps some student members who struggled with the same issue, and who are further along in their program, may be able to help.

Check out some Public Health Nursing journal articles or the Journal of Community Health Nursing. You might find some topics that interest you and find some peer-reviewed sources for your paper.
