Nursing Actions /Interventions

Nursing Students Student Assist

Published

Hi i am new here and not sure if this is the right place to ask, so sorry if its not. I am a 1st year student nurse and have just started learning mental health. I was wondering if anyone could help me with this work. I have to come up with a nusring action or intervention for each of the following:

They are patient problems -

Fearful of being a patient in a MH hospital

Refuses to take prescribed anti-psychotic drug

Stays in bedroom all day

Poor social skills

Believes staff are trying to poison him/her

Has difficulty talking about his/her feelings

Denies having a drink problem

Has poor attention and concentration

Resents being legally detained on the ward

Refuses to travel by car following recent road traffic accident

I have done some of them, but cant find info anywhere!

:specs:

Specializes in med/surg, telemetry, IV therapy, mgmt.

I am curious. . .which ones have you done? Where did you find the answers for them? Why would you list them here if you already found the answers for them?

Im sorry! I would help you out, but I am only 3 weeks into school. I wanted to respond to Daytonite (I think).

I know those questions-

"which ones have you done? Where did you find the answers for them? Why would you list them here if you already found the answers for them?"

were intended for the "original poster" to answer, but I wanted to say that it always helps to have lots of input. I thought your questions came across a little insinuating. So, I just wanted to say she may have posted the questions she already answered to see if anyone could add something she may not have thought of. Getting input from more expierenced nurses helps us (student nurses) build a better understanding. : )

*Best of luck on getting all the info you can for those!

i have posted the ones i have not done as i have a long list.

:D

Nevermind, I thought you have a nursing diagnosis and you were looking for interventions to help achieve a goal.

Some of the things you listed sound like data, I guess you could go with therapeutic communication and some teaching. Maybe do some vital signs in relation to her fear/anxiety
