Good evening,

I am currently a senior in my BSN program and I have an assignment for my ethics class/ I am supposed to ask a health care leader "How do you make a decision if you're faced with a dilemma about what to do"?

Anyone can help out with answering this, it would be great help! I appreciate it. Thank you.:)

OK - I don't do this very often, but I'm giving you a freebie. Many organizations have adopted a decision-making model... here's ours

Framing:

* Define the issue: identify key facts (who, what, where, when, why and how), stakeholders & other important elements (social, economic, political, legal & market)

* Clarify the perspectives: share your own perspective and appreciate the perspectives of others

* Identify the values: Identify important values relevant to the issue

Resolving and Implementing

* Consider all possible alternatives - what are the pros and cons of each alternative, including doing nothing. How does each alternative align with values (see above)?

* Reflect - take time to think about all information that has been presented; share any new insights

* Make a decision: choose among possible alternatives - which one produces the greatest benefit and the least harm?

Implement: Identify a process for carrying out the decision; who will implement; identify barriers; how will the decision be communicated to all stakeholders? Establish a future time to review the process, decision and outcome

Does that help?
