Need help with med error assignment

Nursing Students Student Assist

Published

Hi everyone,

I need assistance on a medication error assignment.

I need 1 staff nurse that is in an area that disperses meds. The nurse needs to have been practicing for at least 6 months. I need to inteview them about an occasion when a medication error has occured.

I also need to interview a charge nurse or supervisor on the same topic.

No names will be used and this will be kept COMPLETELY confidential.

Whoever is interested can PM me.

I really appreciate any assistance your wisdom can provide.

Thank you so much :)

Hi everyone,

Due to the overwhelming response to this post (absolutly no one :) ) I'm going to be reduced to begging.

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE can someone please help me out here. This paper is due on 11/09 and I have a ton of other work to finish besides this (you all remember Nursing 101).

I know this is kind of a touchy subject, but I didn't pick it, my Pharm professor did. I don't know any nurses, so you guys are all I have. Please help!!!!

Ok I will quit begging now because I'm sure you all get the point. Again, anyone can PM me and I will get back to them ASAP.

Thanks so much for your help. :kiss

Sorry, but I do not think that you are going to find anyone that is going to willingly participate in a study like this. That is why you haven't had any responses as of yet.

If you noticed, you have already had over 50 people that have read your post, but none of replied. I suggest that perhaps you find another topic or do your own research of previously documented material on the internet.

I totally understand, but unfortunitly that is not an option.

Our instructions are clear....

"Medication Error Interview Project

(Submit in Assignment Drop Box)

Directions:

INTERVIEW: two nurses who are practicing in an area of nursing where they give medications to clients. One nurse should be a staff nurse who has been working at least six months. The other nurse must be a charge nurse or supervisor. (See following interview questions).

As a student you need to explain to the nurses that you appreciate their sharing their experience about medication errors with you. No names should ever be used on your assignments - initials only. This is a learning tool for students to become familiar with the real work world."

So I actually need to interview live people... if there was any other way I would do it.

I'll be glad to help with this project. These types of things do happen and most always can be attributed to breaking one of the 5 rights.
