Interview with a Registered Nurse via Skype.

Nursing Students Student Assist

Published

I am a future nursing student and I would like to interview a registered nurse for an assignment that is due in a few weeks. I am having a hard time getting a nurse in my surrounding area to talk to, as schedules are crowded and I do not have transportation. I would like to talk to a nurse using Skype or Facetime, as I prefer to see you face-to-face instead of an email. It would really mean a lot to an aspiring nurse to complete this assignment and also broadening my view on my career path from experienced nurses. Feel free to send me a private message to set things up. Can't wait to hear from you all :)

My private messages are not working ..

Specializes in Prior military RN/current ICU RN..

How will you prove they are actually a nurse. You are having a "hard time" getting a nurse to talk to you...ok...well..school is hard. If you interview someone on Skype you better have absolute proof they are an RN or you will be presenting non factual information. This is fine as long as you inform your professor the person you interviewed "may or may not be an actual RN". Also you have RNs who have been nurses a week and some 30 years. You have nurses who work in psych, ER, Home health, administration, or don't even work at all. You can be licensed and not work in 10 years.

Specializes in Complex pedi to LTC/SA & now a manager.

You are too new to have access to PMd.

Try your local health department, schools, minute clinic offer coffee and you may not only find an interview subject but a future contact once you get into school.

You have a few weeks. Try your local public health, home health or pediatric private duty nursing agency. Most of the nurses are out in the field if you offer your questions in advance perhaps one would meet you for coffee to give you answers.

Thanks at least for not expecting people to laboriously type out answers to your assignment. Good luck
