Anyone knows what should I do if I am taking care of esophageal cancer patient and is on chemo-precaution?

Is it because of the drug they receive that's why we need a different type of glove? What exactly should I do?

And anyone know about esophageal stent -- the procedure? I can't find it in my lippincott. I found Whipple.

Help please,

Thanks so much

There should be special chemo gloves and chemo gowns available for you. Some facilies may tell you to "double flush" the toliet after disposing of bodily substances. If your pt is on chemo, and immocompromised, it's possible that there may be other precautions as well such as neutropenic precautions, which would have it's own set of required procedures

BTW: forgot to mention, pregnant women should NOT have contact with chemo or with bodily fluids containing chemo
