My program requires us to do the ATI Real Life Scenario's as part of our clinical experience, in addition to our normal clinical rotations. We are currently on Maternal/Newborn. We're required to follow a guideline sheet and have to use the ATI Learning Templates to create concept maps of certain diagnostic procedures, the specific system disorder, medications, and nursing skills. I am currently on Postpartum Hemorrhage and so far everything has been fine. Until I got to the "nursing skills" form. The three nursing skills it tells me I need to complete this form for are Newborn Care, Postpartum Care, and Teaching New Parents.

I have no utter clue how to make information, some which is really extensive, into not only these small little boxes, but to fit the headings they prompt for me! Maybe I just need a break or something from this workload (they told us it would take 4 hours. Right.), but seriously I could use some inspiration or some idea or nudge in the right direction on how this would be filled out. The areas are "Procedure Name", "Indications", "Nursing Interventions (Pre, Intra, Post), Outcomes/Evaluation, Potential Complications, Nursing Interventions, and Client Education.

I'm also not sure what information to include. Having to to another with "Teaching New Parents".... well, isn't that part of Newborn care? I feel so lost. I thought I would just join the two onto the same paper to cut down on my confusion, and that helped a little. But I feel like I am attempting to put a square peg into a round hole attempting to somehow figure out how to put this information into these sections. I thought about making my own form rather than using this one, so that I can relate them all together in columns. Interventions - Evaluation - Complications - Education. Something to help organize the information I suppose. I don't know. I've actually never had this issue filling out the little map, but I can't fit newborn care onto it like I can administering meds via a gastric tube or inserting a folley. Maybe it's because I don't see newborn care as a "skill" per say. I don't know.

I could use any idea's or insight if anyone has any.

Thank you.

I'm actually doing ATI remediation right now for OB :banghead:

I haven't done the live scenarios (they aren't active in my ATI) but I can try to help?

The info you provided is a bit scattered though.

Which template do you need to do? Basic concept or nursing skills? Double check what it's asking you to do first.
