Recs for NON-Littmann stethoscopes...?

  1. 0 Hello everyone!
So I'll soon be working in the ED as an RN, and I was wondering if anyone had any recommendations for non-Littmann stethoscopes that can hold up in such a noisy arena?

I currently own a Littmann Classic II SE that got me through nursing school, but I'd love advice on good backups!! Since there's so many brands out there, I'm unsure which to trust!

Perhaps I should be more specific:
From each of the brands, which would be best for use in the ED?

    MDF (Er Premier, 777, 747, 767 etc)
    ADC (Adcope? 600, 601, 602, etc.)
    Any others?/

I have both a Littmann Cardiology and a peds sized ultrascope. I absolutely love my ultrascope! I can hear just as well with it as with my Littmann Cardiology, but I work in a pretty quit PICU... not sure how it would work in a busy ED. It's also much lighter in weight than any Littmann I've seen.

I'd go with the MDF. It's such a nice stethoscope! I'm gonna get one one of these days! They are pretty light weight and all the parts are replaced for free if needed!

I carry a spare littman or a sprague stethoscope.

I have a MDF 777 and I love it. I've had a few Littmans and some others and they were all fine, but I don't think I'll ever switch back from the MDF. They are superb quality for their lower price.
