Gifted Scrubs I Can't Wear

Nurses Uniform/Gear

Published

I was gifted some adorable print scrubs for graduation from a very dear neighbor. I can't wear them because I have to wear a uniform for my new job. Should I tell the neighbor and risk hurting their feelings or just say thank you? I can't return them because there was no receipt in the bag. I have no idea where they were purchased from! I'm conflicted!

If I were you, I would just keep them. It's a nice sentiment, no need to bother your well meaning neighbors. Who knows where you might be in the future? And they could be useful if you volunteer...if you are a minimalist and hate extra clothing in your closet, consider donating them to Good Will or other thrift store, where another nurse will surely pick them up.

You could always sell them on eBay or something like that, and then buy different ones with the money they make.

Or you could wear them around the house or as pj's.

This is more an ageold question about gift-giving in our society. You cant hold on to everything people give you but for some reason we have a hard time parting with the "stuff" even though we will never use it. The idea is that you thank the person for the thought, but after that you have to keep your sanity and too much stuff threatens our sanity. So donate!
