This is a discussion on Substitute school nursing on my resume... in Nursing Resume Help, part of Nursing Career Advice ... I am going to be starting some substitute school nursing soon and will need to update my resume...
by jhunting Sep 17, '12I am going to be starting some substitute school nursing soon and will need to update my resume accordingly, however the job is at 5 different schools in 4 different towns as well as part-time work in an "out of school time" program (which would technically be a different job, but also covers these same 5 schools). Obviously I wouldn't list the schools separately, but I am wondering how to format the sub nursing entry on my resume... This is what I have thus far:
Substitute School Nurse, Somewhere Regional/Union ## School Districts, September 2012 - present
Duties: blahblahblahblahblahblahblahblahblah
"Out of School Time" Program Nurse, Somewhere Regional/Union ## School Districts, September 2012 - present
Duties: blahblahblahblahblahblahblahblahblah including different things because there is more responsibility with this job....
I feel like having them separate is redundant since it is basically the same job, except there is a bit more responsibility with the out of school program as you are covering 4 schools at once via phone (I would include this fact in my duties)... I should let you all know that these jobs are my only other 2 nursing jobs on my resume besides a camp nurse position i had this summer... I am afraid that including both of these will boot out some valuable pre-nursing work experience listed on my resume... Should I nix the sub entry and just include the out of school time job since it would be a regular, part-time gig as opposed to a non-contracted per diem job?
Thanks in advance for any and all advice!
