cover letter for PRN position?

Nurses Job Hunt

Just wondering if you think one should do a cover letter for a PRN position, and how should it be different than a cover letter for a full-time position?

Also, since my LPN license is now expired (I'm a RN), should I still list it on my resume?

Thanks!

I think if you have a current RN license, list that and just mention you're a former LPN.

Yes, cover letters in any field is important these days. The cover letter introduces you to the employer, gives him/her a first impression about you and opens the door to the interview where your resume becomes your interview script. Your cover letter, like your resume, tells the employer what value you are offering to persuade them you can help solve their problem. Think of your cover letter as a "career marketing letter" - a letter designed to market your brand (you) by highlighting notable qualifications and career sucesses and generate an invitation for a personal interview.

Good luck.
