Puerto Rico school feedback - thread #2

Wow after 9 years and 1336 posts they closed our thread because it was too long.

The original thread and all the helpful posts can be found here:

https://allnurses.com/international-nursing/puerto-rico-school-28678.html

There are 134 pages in that thread but the last 130 pages were from 2010 and beyond and there is a ton of helpful info in there. Hopefully the current students will continue this thread as I graduate this month. Please try to read that thread at least a little bit before posting your questions here as it is very likely your question has been asked and answered on the other thread more than once.

Good luck on whatever path you choose!

hi everyone,

I am new on this thread, i am thinking about going to inter for the nursing program in english.I applied online,is that how i am supposed to do it????? or there`s a different for applying there?

Im already a student on UMET and they have a Bilingual program in NuRSe in Bayamon.

Hey, so I visited the school on Monday. I met one of my cousin's friends in Puerto Rico and she took me straight to the school and to the nursing department. From there they told me that I needed to go to the admissions office first. When I got there I was expected the phones to be ringing off the hook since I never get through when I call but not one phone rang while I was in there smh. Anyways the lady pulled my application up on the computer and once she saw that I had applied for August, she told me that they have not started admitting people fo June, July, and Aug. She said that they were still working on that current trimester and that they won't start on the other apps until May. She told me to resend my transcript in May once I have graduated with my bachelors so that I wouldn't have to take any gen eds and I could automatically enter the accelerated nursing program. So basically I couldn't get anything done because it's too early.

Edibie I would go down to the International Relations office and speak to "E" and he should be able to help you. That makes no sense. I got accepted in Jan or Feb. "E" will walk you up to the right people and take care of it.

I don't know the exact name of the office but when you walk into the main building where addmissions and financial aid and everything else is you are actually on the 3rd floor. If you go to the very bottom where the cafeteria is, the student lounge, book store, chapel (it's a Christian Uni) etc then you are on the 1st floor. The office where "E" works is next to the ROTC (Army, Navy, Airforce, Marines) office and 2 doors down from the book store (which is pointless - buy your books online).

But I am sure "E" can help you.

Ok thanks I will do that.

Can you tell us, What happened with you?

"E" is a godsend! We have most books on PDF now too.

Jenelle if you want the saunders review let me know.

Thanks Isis. I thought I had the PDF at one point but I checked and could not find it.. I actually prefer to study from an actual book and my Saunders is so marked up. More marked up then any other book I have ever owned.

But could you send it to me if you don't mind? I hope school is going well. I bet you are counting the weeks until it is over.

can somebody send me E`s number please?Or at least a number where they answer the phone??? i need to talk to somebody to see whAT HAPPENED WITH MP APPLICATION.

I don't know what "E"s capacities are these days. He works with international students and by the way since we are from the States we are considered International. Quite silly. I'll message you his email. I only have his email.

How long ago did you apply?

That was my biggest issue was to just get them to accept me so I could move on with plans. I had a client and one of her companies clients was the entire 13 (or 11?) campuses of Interamericana de Puerto Rico. So she spoke with her college who got intouch with her contact at the main campus and I had my acceptance letter within a week. But really it is not hard to get accepted but I know how you feel.

I'll message you his email.

Thank you so much for the email.I applied like a month ago and i haven't heard from them ever since.

I have another question for you, do you happen to know how much does a 13 hours trimester costs after the school fees? It`s hard to get any information from their website since it`s all in spanish.

Thank you again
