I agree, the program is very much what you make of it. If you're there to learn, the resources are there. The nursing professors are great.

Hato Rey would be the closest area I would suggest living near the school. The area which the school is in I believe is technically called Rio Piedras, Cupey is a little farther.

Which banks? I believe the Metro Campus has a Santander ATM right outside the school.. not 100% sure on that it is Santander though. I had to stand by it many times waiting for my ride home : ) Maybe it would be convenient to sign up with Santander since you would have access to an ATM whenever you went to classes.

Thanks Belle08 for taking the time to help us newbies out. We are going to check out some places in Hato Rey. Hadn't looked into local banks yet so that is good info to know.

Hey thanks so much for the info. Why would it take 3 years? Dont they offer accelerated options?

If you have a Bachelors or ALL of their Gen Ed requirements done (not your previous school) then you could finish in two years.

In terms of banks, I stronglly recommend Banco Popular, Santander has an ATM in the university, but no bank. There's also a BP atm at school. As for living, check areas such as "Las Cumbres", "Crown Hills", "Rio Piedras Heights", "El Senorial". Those are the closest to school, but you don't have to live so close. While serching for rentals, look for Cupey, Rio Piedras. If you want beach, then I recommend Ocean Park, Punta Las Marias.

Well I am in San Juan. This very moment I am in Amado salon in Plaza Las Americas getting my hair cut and colored. Well I have to find a salon sooner or later so it may as well be sooner.

After this I am going to head over to the school. I tried to open up a bank account today but was told I needed the rental agreement of the place I will be living. Well it looks like the bank account will be later.

So who will be at orientation on Friday? I know it will be:

Anyone else I don't know about?

Oh and it is confirmed that Verizon does NOT work here at all. I have spoken to Verizon 1/2 a dozen times and they convinced me not to cancel service and that Verizon worked in San Juan. They said not the whole of PR but that San Juan was 100% covered by Verizon and that all aspects of my smart phone would work. Well they were wrong. NOTHING on my phone works except out of network calls at .69 a minute.

By the way someone was looking for yoga on the beach. I picked up this free magazine called "Natural Awakenings" and the back has a listing of a bunch of different yoga classes. I saw "Vinyasa Yoga at the Beach" at Parque del Indigo, Condado through Rasa Yoga and the telephone listed is 274-0061.

Mike I didn't see any Bikram in this magazine, sorry. I may have to get you hooked on Jivamukti and most certainly AcroYoga.
