They transferred my statistics class over, which counted as the math that we need. Also, I got my Freshman Comp 1 & 2 transferred, so I just have to take English 3. As far as Spanish, I still need Spanish 2 & 3. I think the classes I have left are:

Info & Computes (super easy computer class)
    English 3
    Spanish 2
    Spanish 3
History of Puerto Rico (SUPER easy if you take it online)
    Christian Faith
Not sure of the other two. Maybe a humanities? I'm not sure. I took a ton of humanities classes for my associate's degree, but I don't think many transferred over.

God I hope we don't have to wear the boat hats. I'm crossing my fingers for scrubs, but I know I won't get my wish.

Before I look into changing my ticket I have a quick questions, is the orientation on the 10th for students who have already been accepted or can any one go? I am taking a red eye too on Delta. Where are you staying? I got a deal through Costco to stay at a resort for cheap. One last question, how does the accelerated program work? Every schedule I see it looks like you will be there for 2-2.5 years whether you have took classes or not. At least that is what I get from the BSN brochure and the class schedule for the Metro campus. Hmm?
I don't know anything about the orientation. Maybe designer-mommy can chime in. Now that I am in, I am avoiding raising my blood pressure by not calling the school. I figured I would register in person when I am in town.

I am flying AA and I have no clue where I am staying. I hate spending a lot of money on lodging. I saw there is a guest house in Old San Juan that has rooms as low as 20 USD a night but those rooms are not available my whole stay. The other rates are 40 and 50 USD a night. But I want to rent a car and I doubt they have parking. How much are you paying for lodging?

I don't know how the 2 programs work and I don't think second Bachelors is a true accelerated program but everyone I spoke to at the school said if I had a Bachelors it would take 22 months to complete the program. So we will be done in May 2012.

Does anyone know if we will definitely be taking Spanish each semester? Am I the only person that has never ever studied Spanish ever?

Has anyone made progress with the female uniform yet? Boat hats and skirts??? I'm terrified.
I am not doing the skirts. I'll wear the male uniform.

If things work out for everyone who's trying here, we may be able to put together a study group right away. I always do better in classes when I have a study group.
A study group is a very good idea

I posted this before I read all the additional comments but I agree with Mike as I was told over and over if I had a Bachelors it would take 2 years. There was not a single person in any dept that contradicted that statement.

dessigner-mommy is there an equivalent of Whole Foods or Trader Joe's in San Juan?

You have to take 3 Spanish classes, but they shouldn't be hard at all. I took 3 years in high school, and then a semester in college. I'm working on my way to becoming fluent now. There are still some things that I don't know, but for the most part I understand it and can speak it just fine.

I think the orientation is just a general overview of the program, and anyone who is planning on taking nursing can come??? I got two different times, June 11th at 9 a.m. from the secretary, and then June 11th at 10 a.m. from the associate director. I'll probably be there about 8:30 just to be safe LOL

And yes, if you have all of your general education classes, you'll start in August of this year and be done in May of 2012. You don't even have to have a bachelor's for that, just all of the general ed requirements.

ok, no hats or skirts. Just a regular pant nursing uniform. Each University has its own nursing uniform. You only wear it to hospitals. White for males, greenish for females.

Woo Hoo on the uniform situation!!

How are peoples hunts for accommodations going for once school starts in august?

Wow that is really cheap, I was going to pay about $400. Now I am looking into staying somewhere cheaper because I may need that extra money for books later. LOL. The car rental seems two be the cheapest part of the trip, four days for $78.

    Mike and ChanelCinq,

I've also seen a yoga class on Condado Beach, unfortunately I can't remember the name of the studio but I don't believe it's far from Bebos Cafe on Calle Loiza. I was there last July if that helps.
Yoga Classes thats not the one i saw but ill keep looking.

So I received my letter of admission in the mail... its mentions that there is a "counseling and registration activity for transfer student that will be held on Saurday, May 22 at 8am". I tried calling the number it gives if one cannot attend, with no avail.

Does anyone know about this meeting? My main concern is being able to register for classes. Does anyone know how or when this happens???

Well in relieved about the acceptance letter, since now I can get the ball rolling on my loans, but I'm kinda confused about what my next step is at this point...

Oh and my plan is to head to PR in July giving myself a month to situate myself before classes begin.

And regarding those people talking about study groups, the girl I spoke to that finished the program told me not to expect too much of a challenge from the classes, and that it is important to begin studying for the NCLEX from the get go, because just passing the classes will not suffice. She passed the boards on the first try in the minimum time.

Don't worry about not going to the thing on the 22nd, Mike. I have gotten that letter twice and have never went LOL The reason I've gotten it two times is because I had to change my "start date" there in order to register for classes. They send the welcome letter whenever you change it, as if you've just been accepted to the school. I am going to have to go down to the school today to change my start date AGAIN, because the classes were full when I went to register for classes in February. I'm going to try and do everything possible to get down to only 3 general education classes this summer so I can do the accelerated program. I talked to "E" today on the phone, and he said that I am allowed to take 7 credit hours in June and 7 in July, and if I want that extra class, I'll have to go down and talk to the dean of students to beg for an appeal. My GPA is 3.14, not great, but I hope it's good enough for them to realize that I can do it. Send some prayers my way you guys - that they let me do these classes. If not, I am going to be in a big mess with financial aid from not having enough credit hours during the regular nursing program. Plus, I want to get this done and go back to the states!!!

So, if I don't get in for summer, I'm going to have to change the start date a third time with admissions LOL I have no clue why they do that. Most schools don't care about that...once you're in, you're in, and if you want to wait a few semesters to register, so be it. Not this one. I can't register for classes until I change my start date to June. Blah. Wish me luck guys!
