Thank you so much for the info Liz, that helps me out a lot!! My parents are coming with me, but we are going to be there for almost a week so we've been looking at condos and stuff and pricing them out. My main thing was making sure we weren't staying 30-45 minutes away from the school because its going to be our first time on the island. I will now look around for places in the La Conche hotel area. How did your trip go by the way? Have you decided on which school you want to attend?

Keke, I plan on attending La Inter in August as well. When I visit in May, me and hihopes22 will be looking for apartments near the school. If we find anything and/or hear about a place thats reasonable in price, I will let you know.
The beach areas are Condado, Ocean Park, and Isla Verde. Isla Verde is the farthest of the 3 places and it is located in Carolina not San Juan. Also it is super expensive.

Both Condado and Ocean Park are the same distance from school. I live in Ocean Park and this morning I had to be at school at 9:30. It took me 12 minutes from the second I left my drive way to arrive on campus in a tiny bit of morning traffic. the first 5 minutes was just navigating the side streets to the freeway.

Wow, I haven't been on here in ages. I just wanted to add that Inter has a lecture and practice class (2 classes) for NCLEX preparation in the last semester...and if you take nclex early, prof. a will let you skip it if you register with her.

Also, it used to be an open secret that regular students would sign up for classes they hadn't met prerequisites for (i heard of at least one student taking adult care 1 and 2 in the same semester, haha!) and graduate much earlier...not anymore. The new asst director is a real hardass and has been dropping students in classes this semester they weren't supposed to be in. Now, you need to bring your transcripts with you and register in-person...previously you could register online. I guess playtime's over! So don't expect to get out of here super fast if you don't already have a degree (regular student).

Oh ya, there's also an open facebook group for inter students, "Asociacion de Enfunmeria". Check it out if you want. If you post, make sure to say you're a prospective student...

I also plan to start the English accelerated BSN at Inter in August. I applied in mid March and haven't gotten a reply yet. Fortunately I have colleague currently in the program and they have been able to check on my application status. Last I checked "two more weeks"....as they say. Unfortunately, I don't think I will be able to make a pre- move trip. I will be going/moving at the end of June. I'm so excited about this endeavor but I'm extremely nervous. How is the Rio Piedras area for housing?

FYI those coming here next Trimester. There is a choice place for rent advertized on the Asociacion de Enfunmeria Facebook page. It is the nursing association page at La Inter. It's not my place (i'm graduating whooo!) But it is with a cool chick and you should check it out if you're looking for a place. I think it is for 2 female roommates. I don't think I can leave any more detail without violating terms on the website here (hopefully i haven't already). So if you're interested check it out. It's also an awesome resource for all your La Inter questions.
    Cheers.

Also: The girl looking for roomies is a nursing student (if that wasn't obvious) lol.

@npandres The website above is the Nursing Association Facebook page for La Inter and a lot of people are on it. You can always post that you are looking and see if any classmates know of leads. Remember there is a whole class graduating and many of us do not plan on staying on the island so that opens up a lot of spots. Good luck.
