NCLEX @ Puerto Rico

World US Territories

Hello! Do any Puerto Rico Nurses knows how to take (apply) the nclex. All ready took the state exam "Revalida" and passed it but i want to expand my wings and try the states, but dont know how. Do I have to apply first for any board or just take it home (PR) pass and then apply? I know its a lot of money involved and I was wondering also if it was best to take it and then go ahead and apply for endorsement. Thanks in advance

Hello, this is my first post so excuse me if I don't follow any set guidelines or rules. In regards to this post I feel that with today's shortage it is preposterous that we treat Puerto Rican nurses (and thus American Citizens) as 2nd class nurses, coming from a 3rd world. As nurses aren't we supposed to "advocate" for others? It is a shame that these Americans have to jump hoops just to have a fair chance at finding work in the mainland. Does anyone know if the other American commonwealths have to deal with this?

I challenge you all to call your local nursing rep, from the ANA and other bodies to help our brothers and sister RNs (and even MDs), to drop these barriers at a national level. It is OK for Puerto Ricans to join the armed forces and die for America, when is America going to treat them as equals? The NCLEX should not be any different for a Puerto Rican than for one living in the mainland.

I hope that this opens up meaningful dialogue here and I am willing to work with any rep to help make this happen....

Does the FL BON ask for English verification while you do the endorsement from PR license to FL license? THANKS!!!

Hi my name is Johanna and this is my first time posting here. I started the RN program in Puerto Rico and the curse is

in spanish. It is also an online program and I need to go to Puerto Rico for clinics once a year and stay there for 3 months. I decided to do it this way

because the program is cheaper there, it is in Spanish (my first language) and it is also a shorter program. I want to know if it is someone here with same experience that has pass the NCLEX exam, and I would like to know your experience and advice to study for the exam.

Thank you
