RN going back to be a medical assistant
I know it's has been a couple of yrs. but I was wondering Bravon1, Did you get in as an MA or did you start as an RN? I'm asking because I'm going thru the same, "now days" and I think I'll do the same. I have an MA diploma just sitting home same with the RN lic. and no job. Thank you in advance

NCLEX @ Puerto Rico
Thank you, silverdragon and jen_jen. I have 4 states that i can not made my mind off (FL, CT, MA & last but not least NY) lol Im willing to relocate plus Im familiar with those states (lived) sometime. @Jen_Jen88 can i use a state drivers lic instead of the passport. I have travel state to state (PR back and forward) never thought i needed one. Havent travel outside us. Once I get my ATT/nclex, do they issue a license while waitting for the att? Or how does it work? What happened if you dont pass the 1rst time, do I run out of opportunities to be license? Thank you

NCLEX @ Puerto Rico
Hello! Do any Puerto Rico Nurses knows how to take (apply) the NCLEX. All ready took the state exam "Revalida" and passed it but I want to expand my wings and try the states, but don't know how. Do I have to apply first for any board or just take it home (PR) pass and then apply? I know its a lot of money involved and I was wondering also if it was best to take it and then go ahead and apply for endorsement. Thanks in advance

But if applying for a lic. maybe were misinform, because you have the choice of either take it in spanish or english. I can tell you this because I was given the choice to when i went to take it. It is computerized to. If any other question I might be able to help you with.

Travel Nurse with Puerto Rico RN license
PR have the same education as the states, we used same books "Fundamental of Nursing-kozier" "Medical Surgical Nursing" and so on, dont know why we dont take the nclex, that is the only different from here to there. I would have loved to take it but its politics, who knows... I choose this forum because I needed a little light shine for me in the Travel Nursing, now that personally dont think PR have any, and someone from the states would know. I am very happy with the answers I received.i do think it had been very educational for me and I hope to others. We learn new things everyday

2 VA interviews, not hired
True, I only have 9months working RN (BSN) finished 2012 but got my lic @2013. But Im always clear and honest with my experiences and always look for job opportunities that will accept at least no exp required. I also have a Medical Assistant diploma that i took before going to nursing. I did take it to see if it was what I still wanted to do, and loved it. So I went after my nursing a yr after. Maybe my prep is helping but no my exp.

Travel Nurse with Puerto Rico RN license
You are absolutly right, no states will have a nurse without the nclex only the VA would do that, aint that odd. The Government will but Private No. I thought there might be a Travel Agency that will go into the VAs and I was hoping that i could do that. Im really considering taking the nclex, and yes Im eligible to take it. It just to think to go thru all that studying, worrying and nervousness it gives me the gibiris lol Im fully bilingual. Born and raised in MA had my childhood at PR, just came back a couple of yrs ago decided to go for nursing while I was here (PR). At that time didnt know how licensing was. First nurse in the fam, learned everything the hard way. Just asking why Virginia? Is it easier whith them? Thanks NedRN for the advice, I will go after my NCLEX, that will be my next proyect. Want to go back home really bad. :)

2 VA interviews, not hired
No VA here, maybe thats why, who knows, but I know and I understand that they have priority over us (civilians) I respect that for crying outloud they defend our country! Beside that if it was true why having me go thru interviews, is a little frustrading not knowing why not hired or what went wrong twice different VAs interviews. Thanks Keylimesqueez :)
